• Příspěvek pojednává o pojmu konotace 'emocionální'. Tato konotace je na jedné straně souĉástí slovního významu a koresponduje s denotativními komponenty významu. Jako příklad jsou uvedena verba dicendi oznaĉující řeĉový akt 'vychloubání'. Na druhé straně vystupuje 'emocionální' jako souĉást významu textu. Na příkladech z románu Almy M. Karlin jsou představeny dva zpŧsoby, kterými je moţno vysvětlit konotaci textu: jako aktualizaci a předání konotací daných jazykovým systémem a jako povědomí o uţití slov bez emocionální konotace v systému jazyka, které se vytváří teprve v textu.
• The article deals with the phenomenon of 'connotation from an emotional perspective'. On the one hand, this connotation forms part of word meanings and corresponds with denotative elements of meaning. This is shown through 'verba dicendi' expressing the speech act 'boasting'. On the other hand, the word 'emotional' appears as part of textual meaning. Novels by Alma M. Karlin are used as examples to show two different ways of explaining text connotations. Firstly there is the actualization and transfer of connotations inherent in the language system. Secondly there is knowledge of the use of words without emotional connotation in the language system; connotations are created as the particular text unfolds.
