• Adventive Vorkommen der mediterran-kontinentalen Atriplex rosea L. auf Gleisanlagen in Mitteleuropa und im submediterranen Raum Westeuropas (Pyrenäen-Südrand) werden mit denjenigen auf der Südinsel Neuseelands verglichen, wo die Art auf die wärmsten und trockensten Bereiche von Otago beschränkt ist. Die Bestände von A. rosea in NZ zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Übereinstimmung ihres (bis auf eine Ausnahme) ausschließlich neophytischen Artenspektrum aus und werden als Atriplex rosea-Bromus diandrus-Ges. beschrieben. Eine sehr ähnliche Vergesellschaftung ist am klimatisch mit den warmen Beckenlandschaften Otagos vergleichbaren zentralen Südrand der Pyrenäen zu beobachten, während ein Gesellschaftsanschluß von A. rosea auf Schienenstandorten in Mitteleuropa (noch ?) nicht festzustellen ist.
• A. rosea L., native in the mediterranean and continental region of Europe and Western Asia, is part of the alien ruderal flora of Central Europe and of New Zealand. In both areas A. rosea is restricted to regions with high summer-temperatures and low rainfall. Occupied sites range from waste land in and around settlements to roadsides and railway lines. This paper compares stands of A. rosea along railway lines and in railway stations in western Europe and in Otago/NZ. The stands in Otago show a high degree of floristic similarity and are, therefore, treated as a distinct plant community. This Atriplex rosea-Bromus diandrus-community is composed of species alien to NZ, the majority of which have origins in regions either with or influenced by mediterranean or continental climate. The A. rosea stands in Central Europe are strongly ephemeral with a more or less random species composition. Stands similar to those in Otago have been recorded in central northern Spain, where climatic conditions are similar to those in Central Otago.
