• Verschiedene sprachwissenschaftliche Denkansätze und Ausgangspunkte bringen von denselben Forschungsansätzen ausgehend unterschiedliche Methoden und theoretische Auffassungen hervor. Als Produkte verschiedener Forschungsverfahren ergeben sich in demselben Teilbereich manchmal auch kontroverse Definitionen. Die Problematik der Kollokationen ist auch eine umstrittene Frage der Linguistik. Die Umstrittenheit betrifft sowohl die Fragen der Deskription des Charakters dieser sprachlichen Erscheinungen als auch deren Abgrenzung, sprachwissenschaftliche Einreihung und Klassifikation. • The author of the paper tries to give a brief overview of the basic concepts related to collocations, focusing on theoretical issues of idiomaticity and belonging to phraseological vocabulary. She also briefly deals with methodological limits and benefits of single concepts in the lexicography of the collocations, choosing some of the existing approaches and lexicographical, didactic and idiomatic solutions. Since collocations are from the early days of their research an object of interest for researchers abroad, the core of the paper is focussed on foreign theories. The author doesn't forget contemporary research trends in Slovakia which received thanks to their progressive features, a particularly positive feedback abroad.
