N2  - Staubimprägnierung wird als wesentlicher Faktor für die Beeinflussung des Borkensubstrates von epiphytischen Flechten erachtet, da er das Nährstoffangebot und den pH-Wertes der Baumoberfläche beeinflusst. Es gibt jedoch bislang keine Untersuchungen und Daten über Art und Weise dieser Wirkung. Daher wurden im Stadtgebiet von Bonn die Leitfähigkeit (als Referenz für die Staubmenge) und der pH-Wert von Borken in verschiedenen verkehrsbeeinflussten Gebieten gemessen. Es zeigte sich, dass die Staubmenge verkehrsabhängig ist und der pH-Wert bei steigendem Staubeinfluss sinkt. Da der Staub bei Regenfällen jedoch immer wieder abgespült wird, wird der Staubeinfluss auf das Substrat insgesamt für gering erachtet. Hingegen wird der osmotische Effekt von löslichen Stäuben für wichtig gehalten.
N2  - Dust impregnation of bark is regarded as important factor for the ecological conditions of epiphytic lichens, since it is influencing the nutrient supply for the lichens and the pH of the substrate. There exist, however, no data on this effect. Therefore measurements of conductivity (as a reference for the amount of dust) and pH of barks were undertaken in parts of the city of Bonn (Germany), which are differently influenced by traffic. The results show that the amount of dust is correlated with the amount of traffic and that the pH decreases with increased amount of dust, which corroborates the hypothesis that dust impregnation raises the pH of bark. The dust is, however, only accumulated during dry seasons but washed out by rain, which lowers the importance of this factor. Its osmotic effects on lichens is discussed.
