N2  - Wachstum und Reproduktion von Potamogeton praelongus im Großensee wurden zwischen 1984 und 1990 untersucht. Dabei wurde bevorzugt eine nicht-destruktive Arbeitsweise verwendet; Beziehungen zwischen morphologischen Daten und Trockenmasse für Horizontal- und Vertikalsprosse wurden erstellt. Bestandsdichte und errechnete Trockenmasse erreichten im August die höchsten Werte (Untersuchungszeitraum Mai bis Oktober 1984). Die maximale Trockenmasse eines Sproßkomplexes (zwischen Oktober 1984 und Oktober 1985) wurde zu 8,5 g bestimmt. Die Reproduktion erfolgt ausschließlich durch Endknospen der Horizontalsprosse. Seit 1988 wird zunehmende Reduktion der Horizontalsprosse und Zusammenbruch der Population beobachtet; als Ursache wird Lichtmangel vermutet.
N2  - The growth and reproduction of Potamogeton praelongus in the Großensee lake near Hamburg was investigated using non-destructive sampling methods involving relationships between morphological data and dry weight. Populations was examined between May and October 1984 during which time the number of shoots and the calculated dry matter were highest in August. The maximum dry matter of a shoot complex (Oct. 1984 — Oct. 1985) was found to be 8,5 g. Reproduction is only possible by terminal buds of horizontal shoots. Since 1988 a reduction of horizontal shoots and collapse of the population was observed. The plants disappeared, presumably due to lack of light.
