N2  - Das Ziel dieses Beitrags ist, die Vita einer fast in Vergessenheit geratenen Literatin, Maria Therese von Artner, darzustellen. Ihre Lebensgeschichte und literarisches Schaffen sind für slowakische Germanisten mindestens aus zwei Gründen interessant. Erstens verbrachte sie ein Teil ihres Lebens mit in den Komitaten Neutra (Nitra) und Trentschin (Trenčín), zweitens wurde sie von Zeitgenossen als eine talentierte Dichterin wahrgenommen und zählt zugleich zu den wenigen bekannten deutsch schreibenden Schriftstellerinnen des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts unserer Region...
N2  - The author focuses in her paper on two closely related themes: 1) the depiction of social determinants for women´s writing in Hungary in the early 19th century, 2) the concrete life story of Maria Therese von Artner – as a representative of the then female art of writing, who spend a part of her life in the area of today´s Slovakia.
To this the composition of the text corresponds. As introduction the political and social situation as well as the then literary scene in Hungary are characterized. A special attention is given on Bratislava as being one of Artner´s dwellings closely located cultural centre. Moreover the chances, roles and living environments of women are focused, where special emphasis is paid to the questions of girls´ education and the conditions for literary activity. Finally it is shown how historical facts influenced the life of Maria Therese von Artner. The following article bases on historical sources: inter alia lexicons, travelogues and memories of contemporary witnesses as well as on contemporary historical analyses.
