At the same time, he received Rabbinical ordination from R. Yehuda Gershuni of Yeshivat Eretz Israel, Brooklyn, NY. He completed his graduate work with Prof. Paul D. Bartlett at Harvard University in 1974 and then crossed the ocean to become a Weizmann Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science. In 1975, he joined the faculty of Bar-Ilan University, where he is now The Ethel and David Resnick Professor of Active Oxygen Chemistry. From 1982-3 he served as visiting scientist at the Medical Department of Brookhaven National Laboratory. In 1985 he served as Guest Editor for two special issues of the Israel Journal of Chemistry on Active Oxygen Chemistry.
