N2  - A catalogue of 1257 persons commemorated in the scientific names of extant dragonflies (Odonata) is presented together with brief personal information on each entry, typically the full name and year of birth and death (in case of a deceased person). Each individual has a list of the available species, subspecies, genus or subgenus names erected in his or her honour. A total of 1928 available eponymous species-group and 54 genus-group names are listed. These figures include also synonyms and homonyms. It was calculated that of the ca 8400 available species-group names in extant Odonata, ca 23 % are eponyms. Of the 933 new species-group names introduced from 1 January 1995 to 10 March 2015, as many as 42.9 % are eponyms.
