N2  - Článek poukazuje na enormnì variabilitu jazykových prostředků při sdělovánì odmìtnutì ņádosti uchazeče o pracovnì mìsto v německém jazyce. Analyzovaný korpus byl sestaven na základě 500 autentických textů tohoto druhu z let 2000-2004. Analýza je zaměřena na různé formy argumentace uņìvané zaměstnavateli v řečových aktech, které vyjadřujì negativnì odpovědi. Jazyková forma těchto sdělenì se často opakuje, přičemņ zaměstnavatelé volì zejména takový způsob argumentace, ve které nejsou zmiņovány kvalifikačnì nedostatky uchazeče, ale jiné důvody se snahou o zmìrněnì odmìtnutì.
N2  - The article demonstrates the enormous variability of linguistic means of communicating the rejection of job applications in German. The analyzed corpus consists of 500 authentic texts of this type dating from 2000-2004. The analysis focuses on various forms of argumentation used by employers in speech acts expressing negative replies. The linguistic form of these utterances is frequently repeated; employers particularly select means of argumentation which avoid mentioning applicants' inadequate qualifications, but instead mention other reasons in an attempt to soften the rejection.
