N2  - The characters of the named genera of family Manicapsocidae from the Western Hemisphere are reviewed: Nothoentomum Badonnel, Phallopsocus Badonnel, and Epitroctes Mockford. The synonymy of Nothoentomum andEpitroctes is refuted. Phenetically, Epitroctes stands closer to Phallopsocus than to Nothoentomum. Four new species of Epitroctes are described, one from Trinidad (West Indies), two from Costa Rica (one of these also recorded from Panama), and one from Socorro Island, Mexico. A key to the known species of Epitroctes is included.
