N2  - The small oligocenous rocky ridges and the surrounding dry grassland south of Eckelsheim are unique in Rheinhessen and a habitat of a high percentage of submediterranean mosses. Typical taxa are Phascum cuspidatum var. elatum, Pleurochaete squarrosa, and Tortula papillosissima var. submamillosa. In total 40 species have been registered. The existence of the species is endangered because of natural succession and damage caused by game animals.
N2  - Die in Rheinhessen einmaligen kleinen oligozänen Sandsteinfelsen mit umgebenden Trockenrasen bei Eckelsheim sind Standorte einer von submediterranen Moosen geprägten Bryoflora. Charakteristische Taxa sind Phascum cuspidatum var. elatum, Pleurochaete squarrosa und Tortula papillosissima var. submamillosa. Insgesamt wird das Gebiet von 40 Arten besiedelt. Gefährdungsfaktoren sind die Sukzession von Sträuchern und Bäumen und die Wühltätigkeit von Wildtieren.
