N2  - Der erste Teil einer Darstellung der Gattung Echinochloa im Stadtgebiet Aachen und nahe gelegenen Gebieten von Belgien, den Niederlanden und der Städteregion Aachen beschäftigt sich mit der E. muricata-Gruppe. In dieser Gruppe wird neben E. muricata s. str. eine weitere Art, E. wiegandii, unterschieden. Sie vermittelt vom Aussehen der Rispen und Ährchen zu E. crus-galli s. l., gehört aber aufgrund charakteristischer Merkmale der fertilen Deck- und Vorspelzen in die E. muricata-Gruppe. Diagnostische Merkmale von E. wiegandii gegenüber E. muricata s. str. sind ein früherer Blühbeginn, schlankere, schwächer bestachelte, dunkler gefärbte Ährchen sowie eine tendenziell längere Begrannung der Ährchen.
N2  - In the first part of a description of the taxa of the genus Echinochloa in the surroundings of Aachen (urban area of Aachen and adjacent regions of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands), the E. muricata group is discussed. In this group, besides E. muricata s. str., another species, E. wiegandii, is distinguished. E. wiegandii looks almost like E. crus-galli s. l. with respect to the panicle branches and the appearance of the spikelets, but it belongs to the E. muricata group because of the characteristic features of the fertile lemma and palea. The diagnostic features of E. wiegandii compared to E. muricata s. str. are an earlier flowering time, narrower, darker coloured spikelets with weaker bristles, and longer awns.
