• Eine synoptische Tabelle aus 993 Literatur- und unveröffentlichten Aufnahmen wurde erstellt, welche hauptsächlich aus Osterreich stammen. Die Analyse der Tabelle ergab eine Aufteilung in die Wiesen und Weiden der submontanen-montanen Stufe (Arrhenatheretalia), der montan-alpinen Stufe (Poo alpinae-Trisetetalia) und der beschatteten Waldwege (Plantagini-Prunelletalia). Innerhalb der 3 Ordnungen wurden 7 Verbände und 22 Assoziationen unterschieden, welche in dieser Arbeit kurz charakterisiert werden.
• 993 phytosociological relevés of meadows and pastures, mainly made in Austria, were collected and arranged into a synoptic table in order to clarify the syntaxonomy of the class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea. The Arrhenatheretalia should be divided into two orders, the Arrhenatheretalia (the pastures and meadows of the colline to montane belts) and the Poo alpinae-Trisetetalia (the pastures and meadows of the montane to subalpine belts). Another new order, the Plantagini-Prunelletalia, was also distinguished. It comprises the communities of trampled habitats along shaded woodland paths and roads. Short descriptions of the characteristics of the alliances as well as associations are given.
