• Das Saxifragetum blepharophyllae Schönswetter, Schneeweiß & Englisch ass. nov. wird als neue endemische Thlaspietea rotundifolii-Assoziation der östlichen Zentralalpen beschrieben. Die Stand­ortsökologie dieser von Saxifraga blepharophylla geprägten Gesellschaft wird charakterisiert und zwei Subassoziationen werden unterschieden: subass. doronicetosum glacialis besiedelt steile, nordexponierte, feuchte Felshänge, subass. eritrichetosum nani besetzt windexponierte, trockenere Grate. Das Saxifragetum blepharophyllae nimmt eine zwischen alpinen Kalkschiefer- und Silikat-Schuttflu­ren (Drabion hoppeanae und Androsacion alpinae) vermittelnde Position ein, was auch durch die nume­rische Analyse (Clusteranalyse, Hauptkomponentenanalyse, Hauptkoordinatenanalyse) bestätigt wird. Aufgrund stärkerer floristischer Ähnlichkeiten zum Androsacion alpinae wird die Assoziation vorläufig diesem Verband zugeordnet. Dies wird auch durch den Vergleich mit karpatischen Silikatschuttgesell­schaften, insbesondere dem Oxyrio digynae-Saxifragetum carpaticae, der einzigen Androsacion alpinae-Gesellschaft der Tatra, unterstützt. Die bisherige Auffassung zur Syntaxonomie des Drabion hoppeanae wird in Frage gestellt, eine alternative Gliederung wird skizziert.
• A new endemic plant community of the Thlaspietea rotundifolii from the eastern Central Alps (Austria), characterized by Saxifraga hlepharophylla, is described: Saxifragetum blepharophyllae Schönswetter, Schneeweiß & Englisch ass. nov. Its ecological characteristics are presented and two sub­associations are defined: subass. doronicetosum glacialis on steep, north-exposed, moist, rocky slopes, and subass. eritrichetosum nani on windblown, dry ridges. The Saxifragetum blepharophyllae occupies an intermediate position between the two alliances of alpine siliceous screes, Drahion hoppeanae and Androsacion alpinae. This is also confirmed by numeri­cal methods (Cluster Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, Principal Coordinate Analysis): Due to floristic similiarities with the Androsacion alpinae, it is provisionally placed within this alliance. This is supported by comparison with data from Carpathian siliceous scree communities, especially from the Oxyrio digynae-Saxifragetum carpaticae, the only Androsacion alpinae community of the Tatra Moun­tains. The current classification of the Drabion hoppeanae is questioned and a new approach is out­lined.
