N2  - Auf der Basis der Lebensformen i.S. RAUNKIAERs wurde für Pflanzengesellschaften nordwestdeutscher Moore ein "Lebensformen-Index" (ILf) mit Indikatoren edaphischer Verhältnisse entwickelt. Dieser Zahlenwert ist zum einen ein unmittelbarer Indikator der biologischen Aktivität oberflächennaher Torfe. Zum anderen kann er, mit gewisser Einschränkung, der Ansprache spezifischer chemischer Kenngrößen der biologischen Aktivität dieser Torfe dienen.
N2  - A "life form index" (ILf) indicating edaphic properties was developed for plant communities of northwestern German mires, based on the life forms in the sense of RAUNKIAER. This numerical value is a direct indicator of the biological activity of near-surface peat. With certain reservations it can also be used as an indicator of chemical data on biological activity in the peat.
