N2  - This article focuses on the use of the prepositional genitive instead of the dative for the prepositions 'entsprechend', 'gemäß' and 'nahe'. The aim of this study is to evaluate the frequency of genitives with these prepositions in current newspaper texts and to determine requirements for further research. The selected prepositions are described lexicographically, and the frequency of their genitive and dative usage is evaluated in a corpus developed by the author of this paper within DeReKo.
