N2  - Die Differenzierung der straßenbegleitenden Vegetation in naturräumlichen Gradienten und das Auftreten naturraum-typischer Straßenrand-Gesellschaften wurde im nordwestlichen Teil des fränkischen Schichtstufenlandes untersucht. Deutlich wird primär eine Zweigliederung in das vorwiegend landwirtschaftlich genutzte mainfränkische Wärmegebiet und das Maintal einerseits und die kühleren und humideren Bereiche der weitgehend bewaldeten Mittelgebirgsstöcke andererseits. Im Weinbauklima des Wärmegebietes sind die Straßenrandgesellschaften durch einen relativ hohen Anteil an thermophilen ruderalen Sippen und an Arten der Festuco-Brometea und Trifolio-Geranietea gekennzeichnet, während die Rasen der kühleren Bereiche dem Arrhenatherion oder dem Violion caninae näherstehen. Sowohl in der planar-collinen als auch in der montanen Stufe sind im Straßenraum jeweils weitverbreitete und naturraum-typische Pflanzengesellschaften vertreten. Besonders auffällig ist das Auftreten spezieller Saumgesellschaften in den Randgebieten der Buntsandstein-Mittelgebirge und der Basaltauflage der Hochrhön.
N2  - The geographical differentiation of roadside vegetation and the occurrence of roadside coenoses specific to physiographic units were investigated in northwestern Franconia, a region well-known for high diversity in topography, geology, climate and flora. Primarily, a clear division was found between the lowlands with a warm climate (actual and potential areas of viticulture) and the cooler and more humid foothills and mountain areas. Roadside coenoses of the warm agricultural areas are characterized by many thermophilous ruderal taxa as well as by species of the Festuco-Brometea and Trifolio-Geranietea. In more temperate areas, on the other hand, the plant communities of roadsides in deforested areas resemble grassland communities of Arrhenatherion and Violion caninae. Lowland and montane areas are characterized by widespread roadside phytocoenoses as well as by communities specific to a single physiographic unit. One of the striking features of roadside vegetation in the area investigated is the occurence of specific fringe communities in the foothills of the Spessart and Rhön mountains.
