PILGER, eine im zentral- bis ostmediterranen Küstenraum beheimatete Unterart des halophilen Schlitzblatt-Wegerichs, konnte erstmalig als eingebür­gerter Straßenrandhalophyt im südlichen Bayern bei Mittenwald (Deutschland) und im nördlichen Teil Tirols (Österreich) nachgewiesen werden. Die ermittelten Vorkommen, die Ökologie der Art und ihr möglicher Ausbreitungsweg werden diskutiert. Die diagnostischen Merkmale zur Unterscheidung die­ser Unterart von der Nominatsippe P. coronopus subsp. coronopus werden erläutert.
N2  - Plantago coronopus subsp. commutata (GUSS.) PILGER, a subspecies of the halophytic Buck’s-horn Plantain from central and eastern Mediterranean coastal locations, has been found for the first time in Germany (southern Bavaria) and Austria (northern Tirol). The species occurs as a fully naturalized roadside plant due to the application of thawing salt in winter. The populations found of the species, their ecology, and possible dispersal routes are discussed. The characteristics of the taxon are presented, as compared to P. coronopus subsp. coronopus.
