N2  - The nature reserve „Am Kahlenberg“ has an area of 2.8 ha and is the smallest of three nature reserves in the direct vicinity of Wendelsheim. Despite of its small size a large number of seldom and remarkable species have been detected. Investigating the area in 2009 to 2011 the author registered 95 species, while 28 (29%) are Red Data Book species. Mannia fragrans, Pterygoneurum subsessile, and Schistidium papillosum are of special importance. Due to the wide spread of rocks and rocky dry grassland 43% drought indicator species are frequent. Regarding the spectrum of areal types, temperate species with a natural distribution area in central Europe dominate. Moss species of mediterranean and subboreal distribution formed another large group. Spreading of shrubs and trees across open range areas is endangering the moss flora.
N2  - Das Naturschutzgebiet „Am Kahlenberg“ ist mit einer Größe von 2,8 ha das kleinste von drei NSG im Raum Wendelsheim. Es kommt dort jedoch eine Vielzahl seltener und bemerkenswerter Moose vor. Der Autor hat das Gebiet in den Jahren 2009 und 2011 untersucht und 95 Arten festgestellt, davon sind 28 (29%) Rote-Liste-Arten. Hervorzuheben sind Mannia fragrans, Pterygoneurum subsessile und Schistidium papillosum. Aufgrund der verbreiteten Felsen und Felstrockenrasen zählen Trockniszeiger mit 43% zu den häufigsten Zeigerpflanzen. Am Gesamtartenspektrum überwiegen neben temperaten Spezies Vertreter von mediterranen und subborealen Arealtypen. Die größte Bedrohung der Moosflora besteht in der fortschreitenden Sukzession der Sträucher und Bäume.
