Barbula hampeana Paris is identical with Barbula hornschuchiana Schultz. Pottia tasmanica Broth. and Pottia brevicaulis (Taylor) Müll. Hal. are considered new synonyms of Microbryum starkeanum (Hedw.) R.H. Zander. Comments on a nomen nudum, Tortula brachytheca Burchard, are given.
