Die Autorin, selber maßgeblich an der Wiedereinführung psychoanalytischen Wissens und am Aufbau psychoanalytischer Institutionen beteiligt, erzählt die Geschichte der mühseligen, von Widerständen und Behinderungen geprägten Neuaneignung der Psychoanalyse in der frühen Bundesrepublik und verweist in diesem Zusammenhang auf die besondere Bedeutung der Emigranten, die aus Deutschland und Österreich fliehen mußten, und der angelsächsischen Psychoanalyse, vor allem der Londoner »Schulen« um Anna Freud und Melanie Klein.
N2  - National Socialism destroyed the integrity and substance of Psychoanalysis in Germany for a long time to come. The author was among those responsible for the reintroduction of psychoanalytic knowledge and in the organization of psychoanalytic institutions. In this article she teIls about the difficulties in reestablishing psychoanalysis in the new Federal Republic, where it met considerable resistance and obstacles. In particular the author gives credit to the significant contribution of German and Austrian emigrants as weIl as that of psychoanalysis in Anglosaxon countries, especiaIly the London »5chools« of Anna Freud and Melanie Klein.
