N2  - Die floristische Entwicklung der nordöstlich von Darmstadt im Messeler Hügelland gelegenen Rottwiese seit dem 19. Jahrhundert wird beschrieben. Einleitend werden zunächst die für das Gebiet charakteristischen ökologischen Faktoren dargestellt. Anschließend wird nachgewiesen, daß eine große Anzahl von nässeangepaßten und an besonders extensive Wiesennutzung gebundene Pflanzenarten seit dem letzten Jahrhundert auf der Rottwiese verschwunden oder doch stark zurückgegangen sind. Die Ursachen für diesen Artenrückgang werden aufgezeigt. Nach der Darstellung des heutigen floristischen Zustands der Wiese wird erläutert, welche Naturschutzstrategien und -maßnahmen notwendig sind, um die heute immer noch relativ große floristische Vielfalt zu erhalten.
N2  - The changes in the flora of the Rottwiese, a minimum management meadow area northeast of Darmstadt, which have occurred since the 19th century are described. After an outline of the ecological characteristics of the area it is shown that a great number of plant species well adapted to wetness and to particularly minimum management have totally or largely disappeared since the 19th century. The causes of this decline are indicated. In addition, the present flora of the Rottwiese is described and it is explained what strategies and measures of nature conservation should be taken to preserve the surviving variety of plant species of the meadow which is still relatively great.
