N2  - In Europe, anthroponyms have undergone a complex development, as simple one-word personal names have developed into multi-word structures containing one, two or more personal names and a stable surname. The article predominantly characterizes the development of surnames on the basis of their origin. Attention is also paid to different trends in the development of personal names. The article analyses this phenomenon from various perspectives, using an example of one specific living person’s anthroponyms.
