Phänologie und Lebenszyklus von Wolfspinnen (Araneae: Lycosidae) auf Wirtschaftswiesen des Altmühltals/Bayern

Phenology and life cycle of wolf spiders (Araneae: Lycosldae) from meadows of the Altmühl Valley (Bavaria, Southern Germany)

  • A faunistic study was carried out for two years in the valley of the river Aftmuhl In 1986 and 1987. With the help of 57 BARBER-traps in 9 meadow habitats near Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen more than 14500 adult and 7700 young wolf spiders were caught. 13 species were found in total: A/opecosa pulveru/enta (CLERCK), Arctosa /eopardus (SUNDEVALL), Aulonla slblmana (WALCKENAER), Pardosa agrestis (WESTRING), Pardosa amentata (CLERCK), Pardosa palustris (LlNNE), Pardosa pullata (CLERCK), Pirata hygrophilus THORELL, Pirata Iatitans (BLACKWALL), Pirata piratieus (CLERCK), Pirata piscstorius (CLERCK), Trochosa rurieoa (DE GEER) and Troehosa spinipalpis (F.P.-CAMBRIDGE). The pit-fail traps were installed throughout the year and were controlled every two weeks. The resulting data allow a detailed description of the life cycle of seven species: A1opecosa pulverulent a, Pardosa amentata, Pardosa palustris, Pardosa pullata, Pirata latitans, Plrata plratieus and Troehosa spinipalpis. The life cycle of Alopecosa. Pardosa and Pirata species was found to last one year. Troehosa species need almost two years to reach maturity.
