• Mehrere Neufunde des submediterran verbreiteten Neophyten Pastinaca sativa subsp. urens im Westen Deutschlands ermöglichten eine Überprüfung der diagnostischen Merkmale zur Abgrenzung von der Nominatsippe Pastinaca sativa subsp. sativa. Wichtige Merkmale sind die Anzahl der Doldenstrahlen in der Hauptdolde sowie die Länge des längsten Doldenstrahls. Weitere Merkmale, wie Behaarung, Form der basalen Stengelinternodien, Blühzeit und Form der Blätter werden diskutiert. Die Vorkommen entlang anthropogener Verkehrswege belegen, daß die Sippe hauptsächlich durch den Bahn- und Straßenverkehr verbreitet wird. Die dritte Unterart, Pastinaca sativa subsp. sylvestris, die in Deutschland aktuell nur ein Vorkommen in der Oberpfalz besitzt, ist vermutlich aus der Bastardierung der beiden vorgenannten Unterarten entstanden.
• Several new discoveries in western Germany of the introduced umbellifer Pastinaca sativa subsp. urens, which originally had a submediterranean distribution, allowed a reexamination of the diagnostic characters to differentiate it from the common wild parsnip, Pastinaca sativa subsp. sativa. Distinctive morphological characters are the number of rays of the terminal umbel and the length of the longest ray. Other characters are discussed, such as the indumentum, the cross-section of the basal internodes of the stem, the shape of the leaves and the flowering period. The occurence of the plant along railroads and roadsides indicates that the taxon is mainly distributed by human agency. A third subspecies of the wild parsnip, Pastinaca sativa subsp. sylvestris, with only one recent occurence in Germany, may be evolved from a crossing of the two above mentioned subspecies.
