- Investigating the varieties of Phascum cuspidatum in Rheinhessen (Rheinland-Pfalz), there has been registered a variety with toothed apex of leaves in vineyards. The facts of the discovery give rise to the supposition that the variety is not determined genetically but has been evoked by phenoxy-herbicides. Comparable influences of herbicides in spermatophytes are known.
