• Das Waldviertel ist der südöstliche Ausläufer des zentraleuropäischen Mittelgebirges. Der geologische Untergrund besteht aus Granit und Gneisen. 350 Aufnahmen wurden nach der Methode von BRAUN-BLANQUET in Quellfluren und Quellmooren sowie in den eng verzahnten Übergangsbereichen erhoben. Diese Aufnahmen wurden unter Verwendung von numerischen Klassifikations- und Ordinationsmethoden analysiert. Die Bestände wurden 20 Assoziationen zugeordnet, 8 Subassoziationen wurden neu benannt. Die räumliche und zeitliche Veränderung der Vegetation unter dem Einfluss von Meliorationsmaßnahmen wird diskutiert.
• The Waldviertel, located in the northernmost part of Austria, is the south-eastern part of the Central European Highlands. The bedrock is predominantly granite and gneiss. This study was done in order to improve knowledge of the vegetation around springs and in spring fens in that area. 350 releves were taken from sites all over the region, using the method of BRAUN-BLANQUET. These were analyzed by the use of numerical classification and ordination methods. The spring-fen vegetation was classified into 20 associations, and 8 subassociations were described as new. Spatial and temporal relations between the plant communities are discussed.
