- Isolation des Carotinoidbiosynthese Genclusters aus Flavobacterium spec P99-3. Das isolierte Gencluster von 15 kb Größe zeigt 7 offene Leseraster, die auf Grund ihrer Sequenzhomologie Carotinoidgenen zugeordnet werden können oder anhand von Komplementationen in einem heterologen Expressionssystem in E. coli mit anschließender HPLC-Analayse eine eindeutige Funktion im Biosysnthesewegs des selten vorkommenden Myxols zugeordnet werden kann.
- Isolation of the carotenoid biosynthesis gencluster from Flavobacterium spec P99-3. The 15 kb isolated genecluster showed 7 open reading frames, some of the open reading frames showed sequence homology to known carotenoid biosynthesis genes. Some open reading frames were expressed in a heterologe E. coli system and the produced carotenoids were identified by HPLC analysis, they showed activity in the biosynthesis of the rare carotenoid myxol.
