Using a sample of (448.1±2.9)×106 𝜓(3686) decays collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we report an observation of Ξ− transverse polarization with a significance of 7.3𝜎 in the decay 𝜓(3686)→Ξ− ¯Ξ+ (Ξ−→Λ𝜋−, ¯Ξ+→¯Λ𝜋+, Λ→𝑝𝜋−, ¯Λ→¯𝑝𝜋+). The relative phase of the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be ΔΦ=(0.667±0.111±0.058) rad. This is the first measurement of the relative phase for a 𝜓(3686) decay into a pair of Ξ−¯Ξ+ hyperons. The Ξ− decay parameters (𝛼Ξ−, 𝜙Ξ−) and their conjugates (𝛼¯Ξ+, 𝜙¯Ξ+), the angular-distribution parameter 𝛼𝜓, and the strong-phase difference 𝛿𝑝−𝛿𝑠 for Λ𝜋− scattering are measured to be consistent with previous BESIII results.
We report a search for a heavier partner of the recently observed Zcs(3985)− state, denoted as Z′−cs, in the process e+e−→K+D∗−sD∗0+c.c., based on e+e− collision data collected at the center-of-mass energies of s√=4.661, 4.682 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector. The Z′−cs is of interest as it is expected to be a candidate for a hidden-charm and open-strange tetraquark. A partial-reconstruction technique is used to isolate K+ recoil-mass spectra, which are probed for a potential contribution from Z′−cs→D∗−sD∗0 (c.c.). We find an excess of Z′−cs→D∗−sD∗0 (c.c.) candidates with a significance of 2.9σ, after considering systematic uncertainties, at a mass of (4123.5±0.7stat.±1.1syst.)MeV/c2. As the data set is limited in size, the upper limits are evaluated at the 90% confidence level on the product of the Born cross section and the branching fraction of Z′−cs→D∗−sD∗0, σBorn⋅B at the three energy points, under different assumptions of the Z′−cs mass from 4.120 to 4.140 MeV and of the width from 10 to 50 MeV. Under various mass and width assumptions, the upper limits of σBorn⋅B are found to lie in the range of 2∼6, 3∼7 and 3∼6 pb at s√=4.661, 4.682 and 4.699 GeV, respectively. The larger data samples that will be collected in the coming years will allow a clearer picture to emerge concerning the existence and nature of the Z′−cs state.

The upper limits of σBorn⋅B are found to be at the level of O(1) pb at each energy. Larger data samples are needed to confirm the Z′−cs state and clarify its nature in the coming years.

Using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 6.4~fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the process of e+e−→γϕJ/ψ is studied. The processes of e+e−→ϕχc1,c2, χc1,c2→γJ/ψ are observed with a significance of more than 10σ. The s√-dependent cross section of e+e−→ϕχc1,c2 is measured between 4.600 and 4.951~GeV, and evidence of a resonance structure is found for the first time in the ϕχc2 process. We also search for the processes of e+e−→γX(4140), γX(4274) and γX(4500) via the γϕJ/ψ final state, but no obvious structures are found. The upper limits on the production cross section times the branching fraction for these processes at the 90% confidence level are reported.
Using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 22.42 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\etaJ/\psi$ process at center-of-mass energies from 3.808 to 4.951 GeV. Three structures are observed in the line shape of the measured cross sections. A maximum-likelihood fit with ψ(4040), two additional resonances, and a non-resonant component is performed. The mass and width of the first additional state are (4219.7±2.5±4.5)MeV/c2 and (80.7±4.4±1.4)MeV, respectively, consistent with the ψ(4230). For the second state, the mass and width are (4386±13±17)MeV/c2 and (177±32±13)MeV, respectively, consistent with the ψ(4360). The first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The statistical significance of ψ(4040) is 8.0σ and those for ψ(4230) and ψ(4360) are more than 10.0σ.
We report on new measurements of Cabibbo-suppressed semileptonic D+s decays using 3.19 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data sample collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. Our results include branching fractions B(D+s→K0e+νe)=(3.25±0.38(stat.)±0.16(syst.))×10−3 and B(D+s→K∗0e+νe)=(2.37±0.26(stat.)±0.20(syst.))×10−3 which are much improved relative to previous measurements, and the first measurements of the hadronic form-factor parameters for these decays. For D+s→K0e+νe, we obtain f+(0)=0.720±0.084(stat.)±0.013(syst.), and for D+s→K∗0e+νe, we find form-factor ratios rV=V(0)/A1(0)=1.67±0.34(stat.)±0.16(syst.) and r2=A2(0)/A1(0)=0.77±0.28(stat.)±0.07(syst.).
Using a sample of 4.3×105 η′→ηπ0π0 events selected from the ten billion J/ψ event dataset collected with the BESIII detector, we study the decay η′→ηπ0π0 within the framework of nonrelativistic effective field theory. Evidence for a structure at π+π− mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of π0π0 with a statistical significance of around 3.5σ, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the ππ scattering length combination a0−a2 is determined to be 0.226±0.060stat±0.013syst, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of 0.2644±0.0051.
Using a sample of 4.48×108 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we study the two-photon decays of the pseudoscalar mesons π0, η, η′, η(1405), η(1475), η(1760), and X(1835) in J/ψ radiative decays using ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψ events. The π0, η and η′ mesons are clearly observed in the two-photon mass spectra, and the branching fractions are determined to be B(J/ψ→γπ0→3γ)=(3.57±0.12±0.16)×10−5, B(J/ψ→γη→3γ)=(4.42±0.04±0.18)×10−4, and B(J/ψ→γη′→3γ)=(1.26±0.02±0.05)×10−4, where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. No clear signal for η(1405), η(1475), η(1760) or X(1835) is observed in the two-photon mass spectra, and upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the product branching fractions are obtained.
Using a data sample of 448.1×106 ψ(3686) events collected at s√= 3.686 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII, we search for the rare decay J/ψ→ϕe+e− via ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψ. No signal events are observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction is set to be B(J/ψ→ϕe+e−)<1.2×10−7 at the 90\% confidence level, which is still about one order of magnitude higher than the Standard Model prediction.
