Using a sample of about 1010 𝐽/𝜓 events collected at a center-of-mass energy √𝑠=3.097 GeV with the BESIII detector, the electromagnetic Dalitz decays 𝐽/𝜓→𝑒+𝑒−𝜋+𝜋−𝜂′, with 𝜂′→𝛾𝜋+𝜋− and 𝜂′→𝜋+𝜋−𝜂, have been studied. The decay 𝐽/𝜓→𝑒+𝑒−𝑋(1835) is observed with a significance of 15𝜎, and also an 𝑒+𝑒− invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of 𝐽/𝜓→𝑒+𝑒−𝑋(1835) is presented for the first time. The intermediate states 𝑋(2120) and 𝑋(2370) are also observed in the 𝜋+𝜋−𝜂′ invariant-mass spectrum with significances of 5.3𝜎 and 7.3𝜎. The corresponding product branching fractions for 𝐽/𝜓→𝑒+𝑒−𝑋, 𝑋→𝜋+𝜋−𝜂′ [𝑋=𝑋(1835), 𝑋(2120), and 𝑋(2370)] are reported.
The integrated luminosities of the data samples collected in the BESIII experiment in 2016--2017 at center-of-mass energies between 4.19 and 4.28 GeV are measured with a precision better than 1% by analyzing large-angle Bhabha scattering events. The integrated luminosities of the old data sets collected in 2010--2014 are updated by considering correction related to the detector performance, offsettting the effect of newly discovered readout errors in the electromagnetic calorimeter that happen haphazardly.
Using 2.93 fb−1 of e+e− collision data taken with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, the observation of the D0→K1(1270)−e+νe semileptonic decay is presented. The statistical significance of the decay D0→K1(1270)−e+νe is greater than 10σ. The branching fraction of D0→K1(1270)−e+νe is measured to be (1.09±0.13+0.09−0.13±0.12)×10−3. Here, the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third originates from the assumed branching fraction of K1(1270)−→K−π+π−.

We present the first search for the leptonic decays D∗+→e+νe and D∗+→μ+νμ by analyzing a data sample of electron-positron collisions recorded with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32~fb−1. No significant signal is observed. The upper limits on the branching fractions for D∗+→e+νe and D∗+→μ+νμ are set to be 1.1×10−5 and 4.3×10−6 at 90\% confidence level, respectively.
Measurement of e⁺e⁻ → γχc0,c1,c2 cross sections at center-of-mass energies between 3.77 and 4.60 GeV
(2021)
The e+e−→γχcJ (J=0,1,2) processes are studied at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.773 to 4.600 GeV, using a total integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb−1 e+e− annihilation data accumulated with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. We observe for the first time e+e−→γχc1,c2 signals at s√= 4.180 GeV with statistical significances of 7.6σ and 6.0σ, respectively. The production cross section of e+e−→γχc1,c2 at each center-of-mass energy is also measured. We find that the line shape of the e+e−→γχc1 cross section can be described with conventional charmonium states ψ(3686), ψ(3770), ψ(4040), ψ(4160). Compared with this, for the e+e−→γχc2 channel, one more additional resonance is added to describe the cross section line shape. Its mass and width are measured to be M=4371.7±7.5±1.8 MeV/c2 and Γtot=51.1±17.6±1.9 MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The significance of this resonance is estimated to be 5.8σ, and its parameters agree with the Y(4360) resonance previously reported in e+e−→π+π−ψ(3686), and the Y(4390) in e+e−→π+π−hc within uncertainties. No significant signal for the e+e−→γχc0 process is observed, and the upper limits of Born cross sections σB(e+e−→γχc0) at 90\% confidence level are reported.
Using 7.33 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226~GeV, we observe for the first time the decay D±s→ωπ±η with a statistical significance of 7.6σ. The measured branching fraction of this decay is (0.54±0.12±0.04)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.
A determination of the CP-even fraction F+ in the decay D0→K+K−π+π− is presented. Using 2.93 fb−1 of e+e−→ψ(3770)→DD¯ data collected by the BESIII detector, one charm meson is reconstructed in the signal mode and the other in a CP eigenstate or the decay D→K0S,Lπ+π−. Analysis of the relative rates of these double-tagged events yields the result F+=0.730±0.037±0.021, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first model-independent measurement of F+ in D0→K+K−π+π− decays.

The Born cross section of the process e+e−→ΛΛ¯ is measured at 33 center-of-mass energies between 3.51 and 4.60 GeV using data corresponding to the total integrated luminosity of 20.0 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. Describing the energy dependence of the cross section requires a contribution from the ψ(3770)→ΛΛ¯ decay, which is fitted with a significance of 4.6-4.9σ including the systematic uncertainty. The lower bound on its branching fraction is 2.4×10−6 at the 90% confidence level (C.L.), at least an order of magnitude larger than expected from predictions using a scaling based on observed electronic widths. This result indicates the importance of effects from vector charmonium(-like) states when interpreting data in terms of e.g., electromagnetic structure observables. The data do not allow for definite conclusions on the interplay with other vector charmonium(-like) states, and we set 90% C.L.upper limits for the products of their electronic widths and the branching fractions.
During the 2016-17 and 2018-19 running periods, the BESIII experiment collected 7.5~fb−1 of e+e− collision data at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.13 to 4.44~GeV. These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states. By analyzing the di-muon process e+e−→(γISR/FSR)μ+μ−, we measure the center-of-mass energies of the data samples with a precision of 0.6 MeV. Through a run-by-run study, we find that the center-of-mass energies were stable throughout most of the data-taking period.

The lower bound on its branching fraction is 2.4×10−6 at the 90\% confidence level (C.L.), at least five times larger than expected from predictions using a simple scaling approach. This result indicates the importance of effects from vector charmonium(-like) when interpreting data in terms of {\it e.g.}, electromagnetic structure observables. There are no definite conclusions about the interplay with other vector charmonium(-like), and we set 90\% C.L.upper limits for the products of the electronic widths and the branching fractions.
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 collected at a center-of-mass energy s√=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay D0→ωϕ is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.38)×10−4 with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the ϕ and ω mesons from the D0→ωϕ decay are transversely polarized, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.

The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.40)×10−4 with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the ϕ and ω mesons from the D0→ωϕ decay are transversely polarized. The 95% confidence level upper limit on longitudinal polarization fraction is set to be less than 0.24, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.
