Friederike Mayröckers Bekenntnisschrift 'ich bin in der Anstalt. Fusznoten zu einem nicht geschriebenen Werk' stellt das vorläufige Ende einer Reihe von IchTexten dar. Zur Besonderheit dieser Prosa - teilweise in Briefen oder in Form von Essayistik verwirklicht - gehört, dass Sprache und Dinge wie magisch miteinander verbunden scheinen. Wobei der Fusznoten-Text eine weitere Verdichtung vollzogen hat. Die Welt ist ins Buch eingegangen und das Buch Welt geworden. Hinzu kommt die paradoxe Konzeption: Mit Blick auf Fernando Pessoas 'Buch der Unruhe des Hilfsbuchhalters Bernardo Soares', mit dem erstmals in der Geschichte der europäischen Literatur eine Autobiographie ohne Ereignisse vorgestellt wurde, ließen sich die 243 Fusznoten als Bekenntnis ohne Wahrheit und als Werk ohne Werkanspruch bezeichnen. Dissonante Stimmen fließen in ein Bekenntnis-Ich zusammen und bilden eines von mehreren Heteronymen Friederike Mayröckers. Die Anstalt, in dem das Individuum den Gesetzmäßigkeiten des Lebens - bis hin zur Invalidität - unterworfen ist, ist der symbolische Ort eines mit dem Alter voranschreitenden allgemeinen Ausnahmezustands.
J/ψ production as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV

Inclusive J/ψ yields and average transverse momenta in p-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sNN−−−√ = 8.16 TeV are measured as a function of the charged-particle pseudorapidity density with ALICE. The J/ψ mesons are reconstructed at forward (2.03<ycms<3.53) and backward (−4.46<ycms<−2.96) center-of-mass rapidity in their dimuon decay channel while the charged-particle pseudorapidity density is measured around midrapidity. The J/ψ yields at forward and backward rapidity normalized to their respective average values increase with the normalized charged-particle pseudorapidity density, the former showing a weaker increase than the latter. The normalized average transverse momenta at forward and backward rapidity manifest a steady increase from low to high charged-particle pseudorapidity density with a saturation beyond the average value.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a heritable mental illness with complex etiology. While the largest published genome-wide association study identified 64 BD risk loci, the causal SNPs and genes within these loci remain unknown. We applied a suite of statistical and functional fine-mapping methods to these loci, and prioritized 22 likely causal SNPs for BD. We mapped these SNPs to genes, and investigated their likely functional consequences by integrating variant annotations, brain cell-type epigenomic annotations, brain quantitative trait loci, and results from rare variant exome sequencing in BD. Convergent lines of evidence supported the roles of SCN2A, TRANK1, DCLK3, INSYN2B, SYNE1, THSD7A, CACNA1B, TUBBP5, PLCB3, PRDX5, KCNK4, AP001453.3, TRPT1, FKBP2, DNAJC4, RASGRP1, FURIN, FES, YWHAE, DPH1, GSDMB, MED24, THRA, EEF1A2, and KCNQ2 in BD. These represent promising candidates for functional experiments to understand biological mechanisms and therapeutic potential. Additionally, we demonstrated that fine-mapping effect sizes can improve performance and transferability of BD polygenic risk scores across ancestrally diverse populations, and present a high-throughput fine-mapping pipeline (https://github.com/mkoromina/SAFFARI).
The present research investigates if and how a more digitally centered communication between supervisors and employees satisfies employees’ needs regarding the communication with their supervisors and influences employees’ attitudes toward the supervisor and the job. In a cross-sectional online study, 261 employees rated their supervisors’ actual and ideal use of different communication channels (i.e., telephone, face-to-face, email) regarding quality and quantity. Employees’ job satisfaction and their perceptions of their supervisors’ effectiveness and team identification were measured as dependent variables. Employees perceived face-to-face communication to be of higher quality than telephone and email communication, and they indicated a preference for more face-to-face communication with their supervisors than they actually had. Moreover, the perceived quality of communication, especially via face-to-face, was strongly and positively related to the dependent variables. These results provide insights into potential problems of increasing e-leadership in organizations. We conclude with recommendations to reduce these problems.
