Evidence for the singly Cabibbo suppressed decay Λ+c→pπ0 is reported for the first time with a statistical significance of 3.7σ based on 6.0 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.843 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The absolute branching fraction of Λ+c→pπ0 is measured to be (1.56+0.72−0.58±0.20)×10−4, which distinctly exceeds the upper limit measured by Belle experiment. Combining with the branching fraction of Λ+c→nπ+, (6.6±1.3)×10−4, the ratio of the branching fractions of Λ+c→nπ+ and Λ+c→pπ0 is calculated to be 3.2+2.2−1.2. As an important input for the theoretical models describing the decay mechanisms of charmed baryons, our result indicates that the non-factorizable contributions play an essential role and their interference with the factorizable contributions should not be significant. In addition, the absolute branching fraction of Λ+c→pη is measured to be (1.63±0.31stat±0.11syst)×10−3, which is consistent with previous measurements.

Based on (10.09±0.04)×109 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→ϕπ0η is performed. We observe for the first time two new structures on the ϕη invariant mass distribution, with statistical significances of 24.0σ and 16.9σ; the first with JPC = 1+−, mass M = (1911 ± 6 (stat.) ± 14 (sys.))~MeV/c2, and width Γ= (149 ± 12 (stat.) ± 23 (sys.))~MeV, the second with JPC = 1−−, mass M = (1996 ± 11 (stat.) ± 30 (sys.))~MeV/c2, and width Γ = (148 ± 16 (stat.) ± 66 (sys.))~MeV. These measurements provide important input for the strangeonium spectrum. In addition, the f0(980)−a0(980)0 mixing signal in J/ψ→ϕf0(980)→ϕa0(980)0 and the corresponding electromagnetic decay J/ψ→ϕa0(980)0 are measured with improved precision, providing crucial information to understand the nature of a0(980)0 and f0(980).

We present the first observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋0 with a significance of 5.7𝜎 and the first evidence of Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋+𝜋− decay with a significance of 3.1𝜎, based on 𝑒+𝑒−annihilation data recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 6.4 fb−1, in the center-of-mass energy range from 4.600 to 4.950 GeV. We determine the branching fractions of Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋0 and Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋+𝜋− relative to their Cabibbo-favored counterparts to be ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋0)ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝜋+𝜋0) = (2.09±0.39stat±0.07syst)×10−2 and ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋+𝜋−)ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝜋+𝜋+𝜋−) = (1.13±0.41stat±0.06syst)×10−2, respectively. Moreover, by combining our measured result with the world average of ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝜋+𝜋0), we obtain the branching fraction ℬ(Λ+𝑐→Λ𝐾+𝜋0) = (1.49±0.27stat±0.05syst±0.08ref)×10−3. This result significantly departs from theoretical predictions based on quark 𝑆𝑈(3) flavor symmetry, which is underpinned by the presumption of meson pair 𝑆-wave amplitude dominance.
Based on 4.5 fb−1 of e+e− collision data accumulated at center-of-mass energies between 4599.53 MeV and 4698.82 MeV with the BESIII detector, the decay Λ+c→nK0Sπ+π0 is observed for the first time with a significance of 9.2σ. The branching fraction is measured to be (0.85±0.13±0.03)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, which differs from the theoretical prediction based on isospin by 4.4σ. This indicates that there may be resonant contributions or some unknown dynamics in this decay.
Using 2.93 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we investigate the semileptonic decays D+→π+π−ℓ+νℓ (ℓ=e and μ). The D+→f0(500)μ+νμ decay is observed for the first time. By analyzing simultaneously the differential decay rates of D+→f0(500)μ+νμ and D+→f0(500)e+νe in different ℓ+νℓ four-momentum transfer intervals, the product of the relevant hadronic form factor ff0+(0) and the magnitude of the c→d Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcd| is determined to be ff0+(0)|Vcd|=0.0787±0.0060stat±0.0033syst for the first time. With the input of |Vcd| from the global fit in the standard model, we determine ff0+(0)=0.350±0.027stat±0.015syst. The absolute branching fractions of D+→f0(500)(π+π−)μ+νμ and D+→ρ0(π+π−)μ+νμ are determined as (0.72±0.13stat±0.10syst)×10−3 and (1.64±0.13stat±0.11syst)×10−3. Combining these results with those of previous BESIII measurements on their semielectronic counterparts from the same data sample, we test lepton flavor universality by measuring the branching fraction ratios BD+→ρ0μ+νμ/BD+→ρ0e+νe = 0.88±0.10 and BD+→f0(500)μ+νμ/BD+→f0(500)e+νe = 1.14±0.28, which are compatible with the standard model expectation.

The energy-dependent cross section for e+e−→ηψ(2S) is measured at eighteen center of mass energies from 4.288 GeV to 4.951 GeV using the BESIII detector. Using the same data samples, we also perform the first search for the reaction e+e−→ηX~(3872), but no evidence is found for the X~(3872) in the π+π−J/ψ mass distribution. At each of the eighteen center of mass energies, upper limits at the 90\% confidence level on the cross section for e+e−→ηψ(2S) and on the product of the e+e−→ηX~(3872) cross section with the branching fraction of X~(3872)→π+π−J/ψ are reported.
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the cross section of the inclusive process e+e−→η+X, normalized by the total cross section of e+e−→hadrons, is measured at eight center-of-mass energy points from 2.0000 GeV to 3.6710 GeV. These are the first measurements with momentum dependence in this energy region. Our measurement shows a significant discrepancy from calculations with the existing fragmentation functions. To address this discrepancy, a new QCD analysis is performed at the next-to-next-to-leading order with hadron mass corrections and higher twist effects, which can explain both the established high-energy data and our measurements reasonably well.
The absolute branching fraction of the decay Λc(2625)+→Λ+cπ+π− is measured for the first time to be (50.7±5.0stat.±4.9syst.)% with 368.48 pb−1 of e+e− collision data collected by the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energies of s√=4.918 and 4.950 GeV. This result is lower than the naive prediction of 67\%, obtained from isospin symmetry, by more than 2σ, thereby indicating that the novel mechanism referred to as the \textit{threshold effect}, proposed for the strong decays of Λc(2595)+, also applies to Λc(2625)+. This measurement is necessary to obtain the coupling constants for the transitions between s-wave and p-wave charmed baryons in heavy hadron chiral perturbation theory. In addition, we search for the decay Λc(2595)+→Λ+cπ+π−. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on its branching fraction is determined to be 80.8\% at the 90\% confidence level.

Utilizing the data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV, we perform an amplitude analysis of the 𝐷+
𝑠→𝜋+𝜋−𝜋+ decay. The sample contains 13,797 candidates with a signal purity of ∼80%. The amplitude and phase of the contributing 𝜋𝜋 𝒮 wave are measured based on a quasi-model-independent approach, along with the amplitudes and phases of the 𝒫 and 𝒟 waves parametrized by Breit-Wigner models. The fit fractions of different intermediate decay channels are also reported.
Utilizing the data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV, we perform an amplitude analysis of the D+s→π+π−π+ decay. The sample contains 13,797 candidate events with a signal purity of ∼80%. We use a quasi-model-independent approach to measure the magnitude and phase of the D+s→π+π−π+ decay, where the P and D waves are parameterized by a sum of three Breit-Wigner amplitudes ρ(770)0, ρ(1450)0, and f2(1270). The fit fractions of different decay channels are also reported.
Utilizing the data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV, we perform an amplitude analysis of the D+s→π+π−π+ decay. The sample contains 13,797 candidates with a signal purity of ∼80%. The amplitude and phase of the contributing ππ S wave are measured based on a quasi-model-independent approach, along with the amplitudes and phases of the P and D waves parametrized by Breit-Wigner models. The fit fractions of different intermediate decay channels are also reported.
Using (10.087±0.044)×109 𝐽/𝜓 events collected by the Beijing Spectrum III (BESIII) detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider II (BEPCII) collider, we search for the hyperon semileptonic decay Ξ−→Ξ0𝑒−¯𝜈𝑒. No significant signal is observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction ℬ(Ξ−→Ξ0𝑒−¯𝜈𝑒) is set to be 2.59×10−4 at 90% confidence level. This result is one order of magnitude more strict than the previous best limit.
The Born cross section of the process e+e−→ΛΛ¯ is measured at 33 center-of-mass energies between 3.51 and 4.60 GeV using data corresponding to the total integrated luminosity of 20.0 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. Describing the energy dependence of the cross section requires a contribution from the ψ(3770)→ΛΛ¯ decay, which is fitted with a significance of 4.6-4.9σ including the systematic uncertainty. The lower bound on its branching fraction is 2.4×10−6 at the 90% confidence level (C.L.), at least an order of magnitude larger than expected from predictions using a scaling based on observed electronic widths. This result indicates the importance of effects from vector charmonium(-like) states when interpreting data in terms of e.g., electromagnetic structure observables. The data do not allow for definite conclusions on the interplay with other vector charmonium(-like) states, and we set 90% C.L.upper limits for the products of their electronic widths and the branching fractions.
Describing the energy dependence of the cross section requires a justification from the ψ(3770)→ΛΛ¯ decay, which is fitted with a significance of 4.9σ with the systematic uncertainty included. The lower bound on its branching fraction is 2.4×10−6 at the 90\% confidence level (C.L.), at least five times larger than expected from predictions using a simple scaling approach. This result indicates the importance of effects from vector charmonium(-like) when interpreting data in terms of {\it e.g.}, electromagnetic structure observables. There are no definite conclusions about the interplay with other vector charmonium(-like), and we set 90\% C.L.upper limits for the products of the electronic widths and the branching fractions.
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 collected at a center-of-mass energy √𝑠=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay 𝐷0→𝜔𝜙 is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.40)×10−4 with a significance of 6.3𝜎, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the 𝜙 and 𝜔 mesons from the 𝐷0→𝜔𝜙 decay are transversely polarized. The 95% confidence level upper limit on longitudinal polarization fraction is set to be less than 0.24, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 collected at a center-of-mass energy s√=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay D0→ωϕ is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.38)×10−4 with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the ϕ and ω mesons from the D0→ωϕ decay are transversely polarized.
By analyzing (27.12±0.14)×108 ψ(3686) events accumulated with the BESIII detector, the decay ηc(2S)→K+K−η is observed for the first time with a significance of 6.2σ after considering systematic uncertainties. The product of the branching fractions of ψ(3686)→γηc(2S) and ηc(2S)→K+K−η is measured to be B(ψ(3686)→γηc(2S))×B(ηc(2S)→K+K−η)=(2.39±0.32±0.34)×10−6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, and the second one is systematic. The branching fraction of ηc(2S)→K+K−η is determined to be B(ηc(2S)→K+K−η)=(3.42±0.46±0.48±2.44)×10−3, where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction of ψ(3686)→γηc(2S). Using a recent BESIII measurement of B(ηc(2S)→K+K−π0), we also determine the ratio between the branching fractions of ηc(2S)→K+K−η and ηc(2S)→K+K−π0 to be 1.49±0.22±0.25, which is consistent with the previous result of BaBar at a comparable precision level.
Model-independent determination of the strong-phase difference between D⁰ and D̄⁰ → π⁺π⁻π⁺π⁻ decays
(2024)
Measurements of the strong-phase difference between D0 and D¯0→π+π−π+π− are performed in bins of phase space. The study exploits a sample of quantum-correlated DD¯ mesons collected by the BESIII experiment in e+e− collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93~fb−1. Here, D denotes a neutral charm meson in a superposition of flavor eigenstates. The reported results are valuable for measurements of the CP-violating phase γ (also denoted ϕ3) in B±→DK±, D→π+π−π+π− decays, and the binning schemes are designed to provide good statistical sensitivity to this parameter. The expected uncertainty on γ arising from the precision of the strong-phase measurements, when applied to very large samples of B-meson decays, is around 1.5∘ or 2∘, depending on the binning scheme. The binned strong-phase parameters are combined to give a value of F4π+=0.746±0.010±0.004 for the CP-even fraction of D0→π+π−π+π− decays, which is around 30\% more precise than the previous best measurement of this quantity.
We search for the semi-leptonic decays Λ + c → Λπ+π−e+νe and Λ + c → pK0 Sπ−e+νe in a sample of 4.5 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected in the center-of-mass energy region between 4.600 GeV and 4.699 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the decay branching fractions are set to be B(Λ+c → Λπ+π−e+νe ) < 3.9 × 10−4 and B(Λ + c → pK0Sπ−e+νe ) < 3.3 × 10−4 at the 90% confidence level, respectively.
Based on 4.5 fb−1 data taken at seven center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600 to 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the branching fractions of Λ + c → Σ + + hadrons relative to Λ + c → Σ +π +π −. Combining with the world average branching fraction of Λ + c → Σ +π +π −, their branching fractions are measured to be (0.377 ± 0.042 ± 0.020 ± 0.021)% for Λ + c → Σ +K+K−, (0.200 ± 0.023 ± 0.011 ± 0.011)% for Λ + c → Σ+K+π−, (0.414 ± 0.080 ± 0.030 ± 0.023)% for Λ + c → Σ +φ and (0.197 ± 0.036 ± 0.009 ± 0.011)% for Λ + c → Σ +K+K−(non-φ). In all the above results, the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic and the third are from external input of the branching fraction of Λ + c → Σ +π +π −. Since no signal for Λ + c → Σ +K+π−π 0 is observed, the upper limit of its branching fraction is determined to be 0.13% at the 90% confidence level.
With data samples collected with the BESIII detector at seven energy points at √s = 3.68 − 3.71 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 333 pb−1, we present a study of the Λ transverse polarization in the e+e− → ΛΛ¯ reaction. The signifcance of polarization by combining the seven energy points is found to be 2.6σ including the systematic uncertainty, which implies a non-zero phase between the transition amplitudes of the ΛΛ¯ helicity states. The modulus ratio and the relative phase of EM-psionic form factors combined with all energy points are measured to be RΨ = 0.71+0.10−0.10 ± 0.03 and ∆ΦΨ = 23+8.8−8.0 ± 1.6◦, where the frst uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.
The cross sections of the 𝑒+𝑒−→𝜙𝜂′ process at center-of-mass energies from 3.508 to 4.951 GeV are measured with high precision using 26.1 fb−1 data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The cross sections are of the order of a few picobarn and decrease as the center-of-mass energy increases as 𝑠−𝑛/2 with 𝑛=4.35±0.14. This result is in agreement with the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model prediction of 𝑛=3.5±0.9. In addition, the charmless decay 𝜓(3770)→𝜙𝜂′ is searched for by fitting the measured cross sections, yet no significant signal is observed. The upper limit of ℬ(𝜓(3770)→𝜙𝜂′) at the 90% confidence level is determined to be 2.3×10−5.
Using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb−1 recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV, an amplitude analysis of the decay D+s → π+π0π0 is performed, and the relative fractions and phases of different intermediate processes are determined. The absolute branching fraction of the decay D+s → π+π0π0 is measured to be (0.50 ± 0.04stat ± 0.02syst)%. Theabsolute branching fraction of the intermediate process D+s → f0(980)π+, f0(980) → π0π0 is determined to be (0.28 ± 0.04stat ± 0.04syst)%.
Using 4.5fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data samples collected at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600 to 4.698 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measured the absolute branching fraction for the inclusive semileptonic decay Λ+c→Xe+νe, where X refers to any possible particle system. The branching fraction of the decay is determined to be B(Λ+c→Xe+νe)=(4.06±0.10stat.±0.09syst.)%. Our result improves the precision of previous measurement of B(Λ+c→Xe+νe) by more than threefold. Using the known Λ+c lifetime and the charge-averaged semileptonic decay width of nonstrange charmed mesons, we measure the ratio of inclusive semileptonic decay widths Γ(Λ+c→Xe+νe)/Γ¯(D→Xe+νe)=1.28±0.05, where statistical and systematic uncertainties are combined.
Based on 4.4 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the pure \textit{W}-boson-exchange decay Λ+c→Ξ0K+ is studied with a full angular analysis. The corresponding decay asymmetry is measured for the first time to be αΞ0K+=0.01±0.16(stat.)±0.03(syst.). This result reflects the non-interference effect between the S- and P-wave amplitudes. The phase shift between S- and P-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are δp−δs=−1.55±0.25(stat.)±0.05(syst.) rad or 1.59±0.25(stat.)±0.05(syst.) rad.
Using a data sample of (10087±44)×106 J/ψ events collected by the BESIII detector in 2009, 2012, 2018 and 2019, the electromagnetic Dalitz process J/ψ→e+e−η(1405) is observed via the decay η(1405)→π0f0(980), f0(980)→π+π−, with a significance of about 9.6σ. The branching fraction of this decay is measured to be B(J/ψ→e+e−π0η(1405)→e+e−π0f0(980)→e+e−π0π+π−)=(2.02±0.24(stat.)±0.09(syst.))×10−7. The branching-fraction ratio B(J/ψ→e+e−η(1405))/B(J/ψ→γη(1405)) is determined to be (1.35±0.19(stat.)±0.06(syst.))×10−2. Furthermore, an e+e− invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of J/ψ→e+e−η(1405) is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the η(1405) meson.
Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the process e+e−→Σ+Σ¯− is studied at center-of-mass energies s√ = 2.3960, 2.6454, and 2.9000~GeV. Using a fully differential angular description of the final state particles, the complete information of the Σ+ electromagnetic form factors in the time-like region is extracted. The relative phase between the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be sinΔΦ = -0.67~±~0.29~(stat.)~±~0.18~(syst.) at s√ = 2.3960~GeV, ΔΦ = 55∘~±~19∘~(stat.) ±~14∘~(syst.) at s√ = 2.6454~GeV, and 78∘~±~22∘~(stat.) ±~9∘~(syst.) at s√ = 2.9000~GeV. For the first time, the phase of the hyperon electromagnetic form factors is explored in a wide range of four-momentum transfer. The evolution of the phase along with four-momentum transfer is an important input for understanding its asymptotic behavior and the dynamics of baryons.
We report on the first search for ¯Λ−Λ oscillations in the decay 𝐽/𝜓→𝑝𝐾−¯Λ+c.c. by analyzing 1.31×109 𝐽/𝜓 events accumulated with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The 𝐽/𝜓 events are produced using 𝑒+𝑒− collisions at a center of mass energy √𝑠=3.097 GeV. No evidence for hyperon oscillations is observed. The upper limit for the oscillation rate of ¯Λ to Λ hyperons is determined to be 𝒫(Λ)=[ℬ(𝐽/𝜓→𝑝𝐾−Λ+c.c.)/ℬ(𝐽/𝜓→𝑝𝐾−¯Λ+c.c.)]<4.4×10−6 corresponding to an oscillation parameter 𝛿𝑚Λ¯Λ of less than 3.8×10−18 GeV at the 90% confidence level.
We present cross sections for the reaction e+e−→K0SK0L at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.51 GeV to 4.95 GeV using data samples collected in the BESIII experiment, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 26.5 fb−1. The ratio of neutral-to-charged kaon form factors at large momentum transfers (12 GeV2<Q2<25 GeV2) is determined to be 0.21±0.01, which indicates a small but significant effect of flavor-SU(3) breaking in the kaon wave function, and consequently excludes the possibility that flavor-SU(3) breaking is the primary reason for the strong experimental violation of the pQCD prediction |F(π±)|/|F(K±)|=f2π/f2K, where F(π±) and F(K±) are the form factors, and fπ and fK are the decay constants of charged pions and kaons, respectively. We also observe a significant signal for the charmless decay ψ(3770)→K0SK0L for the first time. Within a 1σ contour of the likelihood value, the the branching fraction for ψ(3770)→K0SK0L is determined to be B=(2.63+1.40−1.59)×10−5, and the relative phase between the continuum and ψ(3770) amplitudes is ϕ=(−0.39+0.05−0.10)π. The branching fraction is in good agreement with the S- and D-wave charmonia mixing scheme proposed in the interpretation of the "ρπ puzzle" between J/ψ and ψ(3686) decays.
A search has been performed for the semileptonic decays D0→K0SK−e+νe, D+→K0SK0Se+νe and D+→K+K−e+νe, using 7.9 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy s√=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. No significant signals are observed, and upper limits are set at the 90\% confidence level of 2.13×10−5, 1.54×10−5 and 2.10×10−5 for the branching fractions of D0→K0SK−e+νe, D+→K0SK0Se+νe and D+→K+K−e+νe, respectively.
Analyzing (448.1±2.9)×106 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the ψ(3686)→ωK0SK0S decay is observed for the first time. The branching fraction for this decay is determined to be Bψ(3686)→ωK0SK0S=(7.04±0.39±0.36)×10−5, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

(2023)
The Born cross sections of the process e+e−→D∗0D∗−π++c.c. at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.951 GeV are measured for the first time. The data samples used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 17.9fb−1 and were collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Three enhancements around 4.20, 4.47 and 4.67 GeV are visible. The resonances have masses of 4209.6±4.7±5.9MeV/c2, 4469.1±26.2±3.6MeV/c2 and 4675.3±29.5±3.5MeV/c2 and widths of 81.6±17.8±9.0MeV, 246.3±36.7±9.4MeV and 218.3±72.9±9.3MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The first and third resonances are consistent with the Y(4230) and Y(4660) states, respectively, while the second one is compatible with the Y(4500) observed in the e+e−→K+K−J/ψ process. These three Y states are observed in e+e−→D∗0D∗−π++c.c. process for the first time.
Cross sections for the process e+e−→K0SK0SJ/ψ at center-of-mass energies from 4.128 to 4.950 GeV are measured using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of 21.2 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The Y(4230) state is observed in the energy dependence of the e+e−→K0SK0SJ/ψ cross section for the first time with a statistical significance of 26.0σ. In addition, an enhancement around 4.710 GeV, called the Y(4710), is seen with a statistical significance of 4.2σ. There is no clear structure around 4.484 GeV. Using a fit with a coherent sum of three Breit-Wigner functions, we determine the mass and width of the Y(4230) state to be 4226.9±6.6±21.9 MeV/c2 and 71.7±16.2±31.4 MeV, respectively, and the mass and width of the Y(4710) state to be 4704.0±52.3±69.5 MeV/c2 and 183.2±114.0±90.8 MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. In addition, the average Born cross section ratio of e+e−→K0SK0SJ/ψ to e+e−→K+K−J/ψ is measured to be 0.388+0.035−0.028±0.016, or 0.426+0.038−0.031±0.018 if three-body phase space is considered.
We search for the di-photon decay of a light pseudoscalar axion-like particle, a, in radiative J/ψ decays, using 10 billion J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector. We find no evidence of a signal and set upper limits at the 95% confidence level on the product branching fraction B(J/ψ→γa)×B(a→γγ) and the axion-like particle photon coupling constant gaγγ in the ranges of (3.7−48.5)×10−8 and (2.2−101.8)×10−4 GeV−1, respectively, for 0.18≤ma≤2.85 GeV/c2. These are the most stringent limits to date in this mass region.
The Cabibbo-allowed weak radiative decay Λ+c→Σ+γ has been searched for in a sample of Λ+cΛ¯−c pairs produced in e+e− annihilations, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV. No excess of signal above background is observed, and we set an upper limit on the branching fraction of this decay to be B(Λ+c→Σ+γ)<4.4×10−4 at a confidence level of 90\%, which is in agreement with Standard Model expectations.

By analyzing (27.12±0.14)×108 𝜓(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the decay processes 𝜒𝑐𝐽→3(𝐾+𝐾−) (𝐽=0, 1, 2) are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 8.2𝜎, 8.1𝜎, and 12.4𝜎, respectively. The product branching fractions of 𝜓(3686)→𝛾𝜒𝑐𝐽, 𝜒𝑐𝐽→3(𝐾+𝐾−) are presented and the branching fractions of 𝜒𝑐𝐽→3(𝐾+𝐾−) decays are determined to be ℬ𝜒𝑐0→3(𝐾+𝐾−)=(10.7±1.8±1.1)×10−6, ℬ𝜒𝑐1→3(𝐾+𝐾−)=(4.2±0.9±0.5)×10−6, and ℬ𝜒𝑐2→3(𝐾+𝐾−)=(7.2±1.1±0.8)×10−6, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
Based on 368.5 pb−1 of 𝑒+𝑒− collision data collected at center-of-mass energies 4.914 and 4.946 GeV by the BESIII detector, the 𝑒+𝑒−→𝜙𝜒𝑐1(3872) process is searched for the first time. No significant signal is observed and the upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the product of the Born cross section 𝜎(𝑒+𝑒−→𝜙𝜒𝑐1(3872)) and the branching fraction ℬ[𝜒𝑐1(3872)→𝜋+𝜋−𝐽/𝜓] at 4.914 and 4.946 GeV are set to be 0.85 and 0.96 pb, respectively. These measurements provide useful information for the production of the 𝜒𝑐1(3872) at 𝑒+𝑒− colliders and deepen our understanding about the nature of this particle.
Using (10087±44)×106 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, numerous Ξ− and Λ decay asymmetry parameters are simultaneously determined from the process J/ψ→Ξ−Ξ¯+→Λ(pπ−)π−Λ¯(n¯π0)π+ and its charge-conjugate channel. The precisions of α0 for Λ→nπ0 and α¯0 for Λ¯→n¯π0 compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of Λ→nπ0 to that of Λ→pπ−, ⟨α0⟩/⟨αΛ−⟩, is determined to be 0.873±0.012+0.011−0.010, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than 5σ, which signifies the existence of the ΔI=3/2 transition in Λ for the first time. Beside, we test for CP violation in Ξ−→Λπ− and in Λ→nπ0 with the best precision to date.
The branching fraction of D+→K0Sπ0e+νe is measured for the first time using 7.93 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy s√=3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, and is determined to be B(D+→K0Sπ0e+νe) = (0.881 ± 0.017stat. ± 0.016syst.)\%. Based on an analysis of the D+→K0Sπ0e+νe decay dynamics, we observe the S-wave and P-wave components with fractions of fS-wave = (6.13 ± 0.27stat. ± 0.30syst.)% and fK¯∗(892)0 = (93.88 ± 0.27stat. ± 0.29syst.)\%, respectively. From these results, we obtain the branching fractions B(D+→(K0Sπ0)S-wave e+νe) = (5.41 ± 0.35stat. ± 0.37syst.)×10−4 and B(D+→K¯∗(892)0e+νe) = (4.97 ± 0.11stat. ± 0.12syst.)\%. In addition, the hadronic form-factor ratios of D+→K¯∗(892)0e+νe at q2=0, assuming a single-pole dominance parameterization, are determined to be rV=V(0)A1(0)=1.43 ± 0.07stat. ± 0.03syst. and r2=A2(0)A1(0)=0.72 ± 0.06stat. ± 0.02syst.
The Born cross sections of the process e+e−→D∗0D∗−π+ at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.951 GeV are measured for the first time. The data samples used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 17.9fb−1 and were collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Three enhancements around 4.20, 4.47 and 4.67 GeV are visible. The resonances have masses of 4209.6±4.7±5.9MeV/c2, 4469.1±26.2±3.6MeV/c2 and 4675.3±29.5±3.5MeV/c2 and widths of 81.6±17.8±9.0MeV, 246.3±36.7±9.4MeV, and 218.3±72.9±9.3MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The first and third resonances are consistent with the ψ(4230) and ψ(4660) states, respectively, while the second one is compatible with the ψ(4500) observed in the e+e−→K+K−J/ψ process. These three charmoniumlike ψ states are observed in e+e−→D∗0D∗−π+ process for the first time.
A precision measurement of the matrix elements for η→π+π−π0 and η→π0π0π0 decays is performed using a sample of (10087±44)×106 J/ψ decays collected with the BESIII detector. The decay J/ψ→γη is used to select clean samples of 631,686 η→π+π−π0 decays and 272,322 η→π0π0π0 decays. The matrix elements for both channels are in reasonable agreement with previous measurements. The non-zero gX2Y term for the decay mode η→π+π−π0 is confirmed, as reported by the KLOE Collaboration, while the other higher-order terms are found to be insignificant. Dalitz plot asymmetries in the η→π+π−π0 decay are also explored and are found to be consistent with charge conjugation invariance. In addition, a cusp effect is investigated in the η→π0π0π0 decay, and no obvious structure around the π+π− mass threshold is observed.
The Born cross section of the process e+e−→ηJ/ψ at a center-of-mass energy s√=3.773 GeV is measured to be (8.89±0.88±0.42) pb, using a data sample collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The decay ψ(3770)→ηJ/ψ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 7.4σ. From a fit to the dressed cross-section line-shape of e+e−→ηJ/ψ from s√=3.773 to 4.600 GeV we obtain the branching fraction of the decay ψ(3770)→ηJ/ψ to be (11.6±6.1±1.0)×10−4 when the ψ(3770) decay amplitude is added coherently to the other contributions, and (7.9±1.0±0.7)×10−4 when it is added incoherently. Here the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
