The spider collection of the Zoological Museum of the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection was studied during the summer of 2014. A total of 180 specimens, belonging to 25 families, 60 genera and 77 species were documented. Of these, the following nine species could be recorded from Iran for the first time: Alopecosa schmidti (Hahn, 1835), Anyphaena accentuata (Walckenaer, 1802), Crustulina sticta (O. P.-Cambridge, 1861), Enoplognatha mordax (Thorell, 1875), Ero tuberculata (De Geer, 1778), Salticus zebraneus (C. L. Koch, 1837), Pardosa aenigmatica Tongiorgi, 1966, Pardosa nebulosa (Thorell, 1872) and Tmarus piochardi (Simon, 1866). Morphological and geographical data are provided for the newly recorded species. Two species (P. aenigmatica and T. piochardi) are illustrated and a map of localities is given.
Review of the Panorpa wormaldi group (Mecoptera: Panorpidae), with descriptions of two new species
(2022)
Panorpa Linnaeus, 1758 is the largest genus in the scorpionfly family Panorpidae. In this paper, a taxonomic review of the Panorpa wormaldi group is provided, with two new species described from China: Panorpa fengyanga Wang & Suzuki, sp. nov. from Zhejiang, and Panorpa zhuohengi Wang & Suzuki, sp. nov. from Guangdong. The male of Panorpa implicata Cheng, 1957 is discovered and described for the first time. A distributional map and keys to species are also provided for this group. Species number in this group is updated from 17 to 19. In addition, their biogeographical and evolutionary implications are briefly discussed.
Chigger mites of the African continent are reviewed using data acquired from the literature and examination of the collections deposited at the Royal Museum for Central Africa (Tervuren, Belgium) and the Natural History Museum (London, UK). All findings for 443 valid chigger species belonging to 61 genera are reported, along with details on their collection locality and host species. Three new synonyms are proposed: Straelensia Vercammen-Grandjean & Kolebinova, 1968 (= Anasuscuta Brown, 2009 syn. nov.); Herpetacarus (Herpetacarus) Vercammen-Grandjean, 1960 (= Herpetacarus (Lukoschuskaaia) Kolebinova & Vercammen-Grandjean, 1980 syn. nov.); Gahrliepia brennani (Jadin & Vercammen-Grandjean, 1952) (= Gahrliepia traubi Audy, Lawrence & Vercammen-Grandjean, 1961 syn. nov.). A new replacement name is proposed: Microtrombicula squirreli Stekolnikov, 2017 nom. nov. pro Eltonella myonacis heliosciuri Vercammen-Grandjean, 1965 (praeocc. Vercammen-Grandjean, 1965). Ninety new combinations are proposed. Keys to subfamilies, genera and subgenera of African trombiculid larvae and diagnoses of these taxa are given.
The article presents new faunistic data on 33 Odonata species, based on the material collected by the author in 2012, 2016 and 2017 and a systematic research in 2018 throughout the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (AR). Onychogomphus assimilis (Schneider, 1845) is a new record for the fauna of Azerbaijan. Eight species were registered for the first time for the territory of Nakhichevan AR: Lestes virens Rambur, 1842, Coenagrion scitulum (Rambur, 1842), Aeshna mixta Latreille, 1805, Anaciaeschna isoceles (Müller, 1764), Anax parthenope (Selys, 1839), Sympetrum sanguineum (Müller, 1764), Crocothemis erythraea (Brullé, 1832), and Selysiothemis nigra (Vander Linden, 1825).
This paper presents the results of a study on the odonate fauna in Azerbaijan The survey was conducted in the summer of 2021 and covered 24 localities in twelve districts. A total of 34 species from 9 families was recorded. New localities for Gomphus schneiderii Selys, 1850 and Libellula pontica Selys, 1887 are reported. A formerly published record of Gomphus vulgatissimus from Khachmaz, Nabran village, has to be corrected into G. schneiderii.
This article contains new faunistic data on 53 Odonata species based on material collected by the authors in Azerbaijan between 2013-2014 and added by revising an old collection made by A.V. Bogachev in the 1930-1940s. Of these, 13 species are new for the country: Lestes dryas, L. sponsa, L. virens, Coenagrion hastulatum, C. lunulatum, C. ornatum, C. pulchellum, Aeshna affinis, Brachytron pratense, Cordulegaster picta, Somatochlora flavomaculata, Sympetrum flaveolum, S. vulgatum. The new locality of Cordulegaster picta is the easternmost for the species. Two new populations of a very rare species Cordulegaster vanbrinkae (discovered in the country in 2011) are found. Somatochlora flavomaculata and Brachytron pratense are generally very rare in the entire Caucasus. Pantala flavescens has been rediscovered in the country 100 years after the first record. A large population of Caliaeschna microstigma, a species very rare in Azerbaijan, has been found in the northern part of the country; it represents a peculiar dark morph whose features are described in detail. Particulary discussed are the variability of Coenagrion puella-complex in Azerbaijan and diagnostic features of two other Coenagrion species closely related to each other, C. ornatum and C. vanbrinkae.
The canaliculatus species group of Stenus (Nestus) is redefined. Four new Palaearctic species of the group are described and illustrated: S. (N.) alopex sp. nov. from the Putorana Highland and Taymyr Peninsula, Russia; S. (N.) canalis sp. nov. from SE Siberia and the Russian Far East; S. (N.) canosus sp. nov. from the Narat Mt Ridge, Chinese Tien Shan; S. (N.) delitor sp. nov. from C & SE Siberia. New distributional data as well as brief analyses of old records for fourteen species described earlier are provided from both Palaearctic and Nearctic material. S. (N.) milleporus Casey, 1884 (= sectilifer Casey, 1884) is revalidated as a species propria. S. (N.) sphaerops Casey, 1884 is redescribed; its aedeagus is figured for the fi rst time; the aedeagus of S. (N.) caseyi Puthz, 1972 as well as aedeagi of eight previously described Palaearctic species are illustrated anew. A key for the identification of all the known Palaearctic species of the group is given. A morphology and ecology based analysis of the main evolutionary trends within the group is provided. A lectotype is designated for S. (N.) melanopus Marsham, 1802; its Siberian and NE European records are supposed to be erroneous; the monotypic melanopus species group is erected.
New state records for 32 species of Mexican Cleridae (Coleoptera) are presented. In addition, 10 species of Cleridae are reported for Mexico for the first time (new country records). Cymatodera bezarki new species and Enoclerus sepultura new species are described from Chiapas, Mexico. Enoclerus primulus new species is described from Chiapas, Mexico and El Salvador.

Cymatodera batleth new species (Coleoptera: Cleridae) is described from Honduras. It appears to belong to a group of Central American congeners that share similar facies and coloration, deeply emarginate elytral apices and elaborately modified male pygidia.
