W marcu 1944 roku Frankfurt nad Menem został zniszczony w znacznym stopniu w wyniku ataków bombowych brytyjskiego lotnictwa. Tradycjonaliści chcieli odbudowy większości ulic i linii budynków Starego Miasta, wiernej rekonstrukcji znaczących zabytków oraz odbudowy pozostałych budynków z zachowaniem przedwojennego charakteru miasta. W przeciwieństwie do nich zwolennicy koncepcji nowoczesnych planowali budowę luźno stojących bloków mieszkalnych – bez uwzględnienia wcześniejszego układu przestrzennego miasta. Ostatecznie zawarto kompromis, w którym przewidywano odejście od ciasnego układu Starego Miasta oraz bardziej rozproszoną zabudowę poprzez uproszczenie dawnego układu przestrzennego.
O presente artigo objetiva reavaliar a questão intermedial do expressionismo referente à "Da aurora à meia-noite", obra destacada de Georg Kaiser.
In "Novels of Turkish-German Settlement" konstatiert Tom Cheesman, dass die Aufnahme erotischer Motive die Verlagerung der Diskussion über nationale, ethnische und historische auf sexuelle Kategorien ermöglicht: „Here, [in "Der Erottomane"] as in "Der Mann im Unterhemd", Senoçak uses erotic and pornographic motifs in order to shift the public discourse about identity away from questions of ethnicity, nationhood, and historical memory, toward questions of sexuality.“
The study deals with the contacts between Princess Mechtilde Lichnowsky and the Prague German writer Franz Werfel in the years 1913–1914. The author outlines the friendly relationship between Mechtilde and Werfel, sketching the social and biographical background on the eve of World War I. In this context, attention is paid not only to Mechtilde Lichnowsky's drama "Ein Spiel vom Tod", but also to its reception by Werfel, by other authors, and not least by the contemporary press.
