Records of Odonata from Kubah National Park, near Kuching in west Sarawak, are presented. Eighty-five species are known from the national park. Notable records include Drepanosticta drusilla, Rhinocypha species cf spinifer, Bornagriolestes species, Anaciaeschna species and Macromidia genialis erratica.
The results of two expeditions into the Ulu Baleh and Ulu Balui areas of the interior of Sarawak are presented, including data from forest that was pristine at the time of sampling but that was subsequently logged. A total of 74 species are recorded, notably including Coeliccia campioni, Coeliccia new species borneensis-group, Pericnemis spp., Heliogomphusblandulus, Leptogomphus pendleburyi, Chlorogomphus ?manauand Procordulia ?new species. A discussion of the results and potential differences in the odonate fauna of comparable logged and unlogged forest sites is given.
New records of Odonata from three of Sarawakâs administrative divisions are presen-ted: Sri Aman, Sibu and Kapit. Idionyx montana is recorded from Borneo for the first time, from Batang Ai National Park in Sri Aman Division. Other notable records include: Podolestes species, Matronoides cyaneipennis, Rhinoneura caerulea, Dysphaea species, Coeliccia campioni, Acrogomphus jubilaris, Procordulia fusiformisand Orthetrum borne-ense.
Records of Odonata from two areas in the upper Baram area in Sarawak's Miri Division are presented. Sixty five species are recorded from the Sungai Sii area and sixty three from the Ulu Moh area. Notable records include Telosticta ulubaram, Coeliccia southwelli, Leptogomphus new species, Macromia corycia and Tramea cf. virginia. Rhyothemis regia is recorded from Sarawak for the first time.
Records of larval rearing in the Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia carried out in 2014 are presented. In total, larvae of 27 species were collected. Larvae of eleven species (22 individuals) were successfully reared out, one individual is currently still being reared. An additional three species were collected right after emergence, with the adult still sitting on its exuvia. Most notable are the samples of Orthetrum borneense, Leptogomphus cf. pendleburyi, Coeliccia cf. nemoricola 1, Coeliccia cf. nemoricola 2, Heliocypha biseriata and Elattoneura analis whose final instar larvae are undescribed.
Results of a collecting trip to the Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary in western Sarawak are presented. Several species are reported from Sarawak for the first time: Elattoneura coomansi, Mortonagrion cf aborense, Macrogomphus phalantus and Pornothemis starrei. Other notable records include Coeliccia species, Prodasineura cf interrupta and Raphismia bispina.
Records of Odonata collected in the vicinity of the Borneo Highlands Resort on Gunung Penrissen in south western Sarawak in the period 2014-2016 are presented.
Notable records include new species of Telosticta Dow & Orr, 2012, Rhinocypha Rambur, 1842 and Leptogomphus Selys, 1878, as well as the first record of the recently described genus Borneogomphus Karube & Sasamoto, 2014 from Sarawak.
We revise the Panjange nigrifrons group in Borneo and document an unexpected diversity in western Sarawak forests. Five species occur within 80 km from Kuching, each species being known from its type locality only. Further species occur east until Niah, but the genus seems to be absent from Sabah. We contrast this with another pholcid genus (Aetana Huber, 2005), which is diverse in Sabah and westward until Niah, but does not seem to occur in central and western Sarawak. Five species are newly described: Panjange kapit Huber, sp. nov., Panjange kubah Huber, sp. nov., Panjange niah Huber, sp. nov., Panjange pueh Huber, sp. nov., Panjange seowi Huber, sp. nov.; Panjange tahai (Huber, 2011) comb. nov. is transferred from Pholcus.
Two small, ground and litter-dwelling pholcid species from northern Borneo are described as representatives of a new genus, Hantu gen. nov.: H. kapit gen. et sp. nov. and H. niah gen. et sp. nov. Previous cladistic analyses suggested a closer relationship with the genera Savarna Huber, 2005 and Khorata Huber, 2005 (mainland Southeast Asia) than with the geographically closer genus Aetana Huber, 2005 (Borneo and Philippines to Fiji). Since the two species do not share any of the synapomorphies of Khorata and Savarna while having several synapomorphies on their own (ventral apophysis on male palpal coxa; male palpal trochanter apophysis with small teeth or scales; spines on male femora 1; high density of vertical hairs on male femora; presence of scape on epigynum), they are here proposed as representing a new genus.
