By analyzing a 2.93~fb−1 data sample of e+e− collisions, recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we have searched for the semileptonic D+ transition into the axial-vector meson K¯1(1270)0. The D+→K¯1(1270)0e+νe decay is observed for the first time with a statistical significance greater than 10σ. Its decay branching fraction is determined to be B[D+→K¯1(1270)0e+νe]=(2.30±0.26±0.18±0.25)×10−3, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, and the third originates from the input branching fraction of K¯1(1270)0→K−π+π0.
The process e+e−→ϕη is studied at 22 center-of-mass energy points (√s) between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV using 715 pb−1 of data collected with the BESIII detector. The measured Born cross section of e+e−→ϕη is found to be consistent with BABAR measurements, but with improved precision. A resonant structure around 2.175 GeV is observed with a significance of 6.9σ with mass (2163.5±6.2±3.0) MeV/c2 and width (31.1+21.1−11.6±1.1) MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
Measurement of e⁺e⁻ → KK̄J/ψ cross sections at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.600 GeV
(2018)
We investigate the process e+e−→KK¯J/ψ at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.600 GeV using 4.7 fb−1 of data collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross sections for the reactions e+e−→K+K−J/ψ and K0SK0SJ/ψ are measured as a function of center-of-mass energy. The energy dependence of the cross section for e+e−→K+K−J/ψ is shown to differ from that for π+π−J/ψ in the region around the Y(4260). In addition, there is evidence for a structure around 4.5 GeV in the e+e−→K+K−J/ψ cross section that is not present in π+π−J/ψ.
Measurement of e⁺e⁻ → ϕη′ cross sections at center-of-mass energies
between 3.508 and 4.600 GeV
(2023)
We present a measurement of the dressed cross sections for e+e−→ϕη′ at different center-of-mass energies between 3.508 and 4.600 GeV based on 15.1 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. In addition, a search for the decay Y(4230)→ϕη′ is performed. No clear signal is observed and the corresponding upper limit is provided.
Using a sample of (10.09±0.04)×109 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of J/ψ→γη′η′ is performed. The masses and widths of the observed resonances and their branching fractions are reported. The main contribution is from J/ψ→γf0(2020) with f0(2020)→η′η′, which is found with a significance of greater than 25σ. The product branching fraction B(J/ψ → γf0(2020))⋅B(f0(2020) → η′η′ is measured to be (2.63±0.06(stat.) + 0.31−0.46(syst.))×10−4.
Using 4.7 fb−1 of e+e− collision data at center-of-mass energies from 4.661 to 4.951 GeV collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we observe the X(3872) production process e+e−→ωX(3872) for the first time. The significance is 7.8σ, including both the statistical and systematic uncertainties. The e+e−→ωX(3872) Born cross section and the corresponding upper limit at 90\% confidence level at each energy point are reported. The line shape of the cross section indicates that the ωX(3872) signals may be from the decays of some non-trivial structures.
Using 4.7fb−1 of e+e− collision data at center-of-mass energies from 4.661 to 4.951 GeV collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we observe the X(3872) production process e+e−→ωX(3872) for the first time. The significance is 7.5σ, including both the statistical and systematic uncertainties. The e+e−→ωX(3872) Born cross section and the corresponding upper limit at 90\% confidence level at each energy point are reported. The line shape of the cross section indicates that the ωX(3872) signals may be from the decays of some non-trivial structures.
We present the first search for the leptonic decays D∗+→e+νe and D∗+→μ+νμ by analyzing a data sample of electron-positron collisions recorded with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32~fb−1. No significant signal is observed. The upper limits on the branching fractions for D∗+→e+νe and D∗+→μ+νμ are set to be 1.1×10−5 and 4.3×10−6 at 90\% confidence level, respectively.
Based on electron positron collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage rings, the differential cross sections of inclusive π0 and K0S production as a function of hadron momentum, normalized by the total cross section of the e+e−→ hadrons process, are measured at six center-of-mass energies from 2.2324 to 3.6710 GeV. Our results with a relative hadron energy coverage from 0.1 to 0.9 significantly deviate from several theoretical calculations based on existing fragmentation functions, especially at lower energies.

Based on an e+e− collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at √s=3.773 GeV, the first amplitude analysis of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D+→K+K0Sπ0 is performed. From the amplitude analysis, the K∗(892)+K0S component is found to be dominant with a fraction of (57.1±2.6±4.2)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. In combination with the absolute branching fraction B(D+→K+K0Sπ0) measured by BESIII, we obtain B(D+→K∗(892)+K0S)=(8.69±0.40±0.64±0.51)×10−3, where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction B(D+→K+K0Sπ0). The precision of this result is significantly improved compared to the previous measurement. This result also differs from most of theoretical predictions by about 4σ, which may help to improve the understanding of the dynamics behind.
Using 𝑒+𝑒− collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33 fb−1 recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we present an analysis of the decay 𝐷+𝑠→𝜋+𝜋−𝑒+𝜈𝑒, where the 𝐷+𝑠 is produced via the process 𝑒+𝑒−→𝐷*±𝑠𝐷∓𝑠. We observe the 𝑓0(980) in the 𝜋+𝜋− system and the branching fraction of the decay 𝐷+𝑠→𝑓0(980)𝑒+𝜈𝑒 with 𝑓0(980)→𝜋+𝜋− measured to be (1.72±0.13stat±0.10syst)×10−3, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The dynamics of the 𝐷+𝑠→𝑓0(980)𝑒+𝜈𝑒 decay are studied with the simple pole parametrization of the hadronic form factor and the Flatté formula describing the 𝑓0(980) in the differential decay rate, and the product of the form factor 𝑓𝑓0+(0) and the 𝑐→𝑠 Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |𝑉𝑐𝑠| is determined for the first time to be 𝑓𝑓0+(0)|𝑉𝑐𝑠|=0.504±0.017stat±0.035syst. Furthermore, the decay 𝐷+
𝑠→𝑓0(500)𝑒+𝜈𝑒 is searched for the first time but no signal is found. The upper limit on the branching fraction of 𝐷+𝑠→𝑓0(500)𝑒+𝜈𝑒, 𝑓0(500)→𝜋+𝜋− decay is set to be 3.3×10−4 at 90% confidence level.
First study of reaction Ξ⁰n → Ξ⁻ p using Ξ⁰-nucleus scattering at an electron-positron collider
(2023)
Using ð1.0087 0.0044Þ × 1010 J=ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the process Ξ0n → Ξ−p is studied, where the Ξ0 baryon is produced in the process J=ψ → Ξ0Ξ¯ 0 and the neutron is a component of the 9 Be, 12C, and 197Au nuclei in the beam pipe. A clear signal is observed with a statistical significance of 7.1σ. The cross section of the reaction Ξ0 þ 9 Be → Ξ− þ p þ 8 Be is determined to be σðΞ0 þ 9 Be → Ξ− þ p þ 8 BeÞ¼ð22.1 5.3stat 4.5sysÞ mb at the Ξ0 momentum of 0.818 GeV=c, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No significant H-dibaryon signal is observed in the Ξ−p final state. This is the first study of hyperon-nucleon interactions in electron-positron collisions and opens up a new direction for such research.
Using initial-state radiation events from a total integrated luminosity of 11.957 fb−1 of 𝑒+𝑒− collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 3.773 and 4.258 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the cross section for the process 𝑒+𝑒−→Λ¯Λ is measured in 16 Λ¯Λ invariant mass intervals from the production threshold up to 3.00 GeV/𝑐2. The results are consistent with previous results from BABAR and BESIII, but with better precision and with narrower Λ¯Λ invariant mass intervals than BABAR.
Using 7.33 fb−1 of e+e− collision data taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first experimental study of the purely leptonic decay D∗+s→e+νe. A signal for the decay D∗+s→e+νe is observed with a statistical significance of 2.9σ. The branching fraction of D∗+s→e+νe is measured to be (2.1+1.2−0.9stat.±0.2syst.)×10−5, corresponding to an upper limit of 4.0×10−5 at the 90\% confidence level. Taking the total width of the D∗+s~((0.070±0.028) keV) predicted by lattice quantum chromodynamics as input, the decay constant of the D∗+s is determined to be fD∗+s=(213.6+61.0−45.8stat.±43.9syst.) MeV, corresponding to an upper limit of 353.8 MeV at the 90\% confidence level.

This paper reports the study of D+s→τ+ν via τ+→π+ν¯τ using a boosted decision tree method, with 7.33 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226~GeV. The branching fraction of D+s→τ+ντ is determined to be (5.44±0.17stat±0.13syst)%. The product of the D+s decay constant fD+s and the CKM matrix element |Vcs| is fD+s|Vcs| =(248.3±3.9stat±3.1syst±1.0input) MeV. Combining with the |Vcs| value obtained from the Standard Model global fit or the fD+s from the lattice quantum chromodynamics, we determine |Vcs| = 0.993±0.015stat±0.012syst±0.004input and fD+s =(255.0±4.0stat±3.2syst±1.0input) MeV. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second one is systematic and the third one is due to the input parameters, mainly the lifetime of D+s. All results obtained in this work supersede the BESIII previous results based on 6.32 fb−1 of e+e− collision data taken at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226~GeV.
Using 7.33 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226~GeV, we observe for the first time the decay D±s→ωπ±η with a statistical significance of 7.6σ. The measured branching fraction of this decay is (0.54±0.12±0.04)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.
A determination of the CP-even fraction F+ in the decay D0→K+K−π+π− is presented. Using 2.93 fb−1 of e+e−→ψ(3770)→DD¯ data collected by the BESIII detector, one charm meson is reconstructed in the signal mode and the other in a CP eigenstate or the decay D→K0S,Lπ+π−. Analysis of the relative rates of these double-tagged events yields the result F+=0.730±0.037±0.021, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first model-independent measurement of F+ in D0→K+K−π+π− decays.
