Five new species of the genus Cotycicuiara Galileo and Martins are described and illustrated: C. oicepe sp. nov., from Trinidad and Tobago; and from Brazil C. multicava sp. nov., (Minas Gerais); C. pertusa sp. nov., (Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina); C. nivaria sp. nov., (Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo); C. chionea sp. nov., (Rio de Janeiro). A revised key to species is provided.
The following new species are described: Nyctonympha andersoni, sp. n., and N. howdenarum, sp. n., both from Colombia; N. genieri, sp. n., from Ecuador; N. taeniata, sp. n., from Trinidad; Falsamblesthis microps, sp. n., from Venezuela; Bactriola circundata, sp. n., from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro); B. maculata, sp. n., from Venezuela and Ecuador; and B. falsa, sp. n., from Brazil (Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul). A redescription of Bactriola vittulata Bates, 1886, herein designated as the type species of the genus, is provided. Accurate data on the occurrence of Saepiseuthes chilensis Thomson, 1868, in Chile are given. Keys to the species of Bactriola Bates, 1886 and Nyctonympha Thomson, 1868 are added.
The following new species are described: Lydipta humeralis, sp. n. and Cacostola obliquata, sp. n., from Ecuador; Lochmaeocles leuripennis, sp. n., and Carenesycha velezi, sp. it., from Colombia; Oltcideres marauara, sp. it., from Brazil (Amazonas). Oncideres minuta Thomson, 1865, is recorded from Ecuador.
New species are described in the tribe Piezocerini: Gorybia rondonia sp. nov. from Brazil (Rondônia) and G. bahiensis sp. nov. from Brazil (Bahia); in the tribe Hexoplonini: Calycibidion rubricolle sp. nov. from Brazil (Bahia); in the tribe Ibidionini, Tropidina: Tropidion argentina sp. nov. from Argentina (La Rioja) and T. boliviensis sp. nov. from Bolivia (Santa Cruz); in the tribe Rhinotragini: Ommata (Ommata) albitarsis sp. nov. from Brazil (Rondônia); and in the tribe Rhopalophorini: Cosmisoma viridescens sp. nov. from Brazil (Bahia). To validate the tribal names, Hexoplon Thomson, 1864 and Tropidion Thomson, 1867, are here designated type genera of Hexoplonini and Tropidiina, respectively.
Two new species and a new genus of Cerambycidae are described from South America: Cotyclytus arriagadai sp. nov., from Bolivia; and Lembu dieguezi, gen. nov., sp. nov., from Paraguay. Orthomegas irroratus (Lameere, 1915) is redescribed, based on the second and third known specimens, and its distribution is expanded to include Ecuador. The male of Jamesia fuscofasciata Dillon and Dillon, 1952 is described and illustrated for the fi rst time, and the distribution of the species is expanded to Peru. Thirty-two new country records (twelve for Paraguay, fi fteen for Peru, two for Ecuador, three for Bolivia) and one new province record (Argentina) are presented.
Chiquitano gen. nov. Chiquitano volcanesensis sp. nov., Compsibidion achiraensis sp. nov. and Compsibidion amboroensis sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae: Neoibidionini) are described from Bolivia. Notes on Rhysium Pascoe, 1866 and Rhysium bimaculatum Pascoe, 1866 are provided, and Brechmoidion separatum Martins and Galileo, 2007 is transferred to Rhysium. Keys to species of Compsibidion Thomson, 1864, Brechmoidion Martins, 1969 and Rhysium Pascoe, 1866 are also provided.
Five new species of Cerambycidae (Coleoptera) from Peru and Bolivia, and two new records for Peru
(2014)
The following four new species of Cerambycidae are described from Bolivia: Chrysoprasis imitatrix (Heteropsini); Carneades vigneaulti (Colobotheini); Colobothea larriveei (Colobotheini); Colobothea boliviana (Colobotheini). Esthlogena (Pseudotaxia) bella (Pteropliini) is described from Peru. A key to species of Carneades Bates, 1869 is provided. The other new species are included in previously published keys. Additionally, two new country records are reported for the fauna of Peru.
Two new species of Corimbion Martins, 1970 are described from Bolivia: Corimbion kuckartzi and Corimbion ledezmae. A previous key to the South American species of Corimbion (Martins 2009) is herein modified to include the new species. Dorsal, ventral and lateral habitus illustrations, as well as variation in color and dorsal pattern for C. kuckartzi, are also presented.
Four new species in the genus Amphicnaeia (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae) are described: A. panamensis Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo and A. fuscofasciata Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo from Panama; A. bezarki Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo from Venezuela; and A. rileyi Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo from Costa Rica and Panama. Amphicnaeia affinis Breuning, 1940 is placed in synonymy with A. lineata Bates, 1866, and the species newly recorded from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Amphicnaeia cordigera Aurivillius, 1920 is transferred to Rosalba Thomson, 1864, resulting in a new combination, and Rosalba rufescens Breuning, 1940, is found to be a junior synonym of the former. The holotypes of A. vitticollis Breuning, 1940, and A. villosula (Thomson, 1868) are illustrated for the first time.
Two new species of Cerambycidae (Coleoptera) are described from Bolivia: Compsibidion woodleyi Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo (Cerambycinae: Neoibidionina): and Drycothaea dozieri Wappes, Santos-Silva and Galileo (Lamiinae: Calliini). Illustrations of the new species are included. Mallodon downesii Hope, 1843 (Prioninae: Macrotomini) is reported for the first time in Costa Rica.
