Using a sample of 4.3×105 η′→ηπ0π0 events selected from the ten billion J/ψ event dataset collected with the BESIII detector, we study the decay η′→ηπ0π0 within the framework of nonrelativistic effective field theory. Evidence for a structure at π+π− mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of π0π0 with a statistical significance of around 3.5σ, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the ππ scattering length combination a0−a2 is determined to be 0.226±0.060stat±0.013syst, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of 0.2644±0.0051.
The radiative hyperon decay Λ→nγ is studied using (10087±44)×106 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII. The absolute branching fraction of the decay Λ→nγ is determined with a significance of 5.6σ to be [0.832±0.038(stat.)±0.054(syst.)]×10−3, which lies significantly below the current PDG value. By analyzing the joint angular distribution of the decay products, the first determination of the decay asymmetry αγ is reported with a value of −0.16±0.10(stat.)±0.05(syst.).
Luminosities and energies of e⁺e⁻ collision data taken between √s=4.61 GeV and 4.95 GeV at BESIII
(2022)
From December 2019 to June 2021, the BESIII experiment collected about 5.85 fb−1 of data at center-of-mass energies between 4.61 GeV and 4.95 GeV. This is the highest collision energy BEPCII has reached so far. The accumulated e+e− annihilation data samples are useful for studying charmonium(-like) states and charmed-hadron decays. By adopting a novel method of analyzing the production of Λ+cΛ¯−c pairs in e+e− annihilation, the center-of-mass energies are measured with a precision of ∼0.6 MeV. Integrated luminosities are measured with a precision of better than 1\% by analyzing the events of large-angle Bhabha scattering. These measurements provide important inputs to the analyses based on these data samples.
Based on 10 billion J/ψ events collected at the BESIII experiment, a search for CP violation in Λ decay is performed in the difference between CP-odd decay parameters α− for Λ→pπ− and α+ for Λ¯→p¯π+ by using the process e+e−→J/ψ→ΛΛ¯. With a five-dimensional fit to the full angular distributions of the daughter baryon, the most precise values for the decay parameters are determined to be α−=0.7519±0.0036±0.0024 and α+=−0.7559±0.0036±0.0030, respectively. The Λ and Λ¯ averaged value of the decay parameter is extracted to be αavg=0.7542±0.0010±0.0024 with unprecedented accuracy. The CP asymmetry ACP=(α−+α+)/(α−−α+) is determined to be −0.0025 ± 0.0046 ± 0.0012, which is one of the most precise measurements in the baryon sector. The reported results for the decay parameter will play an important role in the studies of the polarizations and CP violations for the strange, charmed and beauty baryons.
The Cabibbo-allowed weak radiative decay Λ+c→Σ+γ has been searched for in a sample of Λ+cΛ¯−c pairs produced in e+e− annihilations, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV. No excess of signal above background is observed, and we set an upper limit on the branching fraction of this decay to be B(Λ+c→Σ+γ)<4.4×10−4 at a confidence level of 90\%, which is in agreement with Standard Model expectations.

Based on electron positron collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage rings, the differential cross sections of inclusive π0 and K0S production as a function of hadron momentum, normalized by the total cross section of the e+e−→ hadrons process, are measured at six center-of-mass energies from 2.2324 to 3.6710 GeV. Our results with a relative hadron energy coverage from 0.1 to 0.9 significantly deviate from several theoretical calculations based on existing fragmentation functions, especially at lower energies.
Using a data set of electron-positron collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 taken with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, a search for the baryon (B) and lepton (L) number violating decays D±→n(n¯)e± is performed. No signal is observed and the upper limits on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level are set to be 1.43×10−5 for the decays D+(−)→n¯(n)e+(−) with Δ|B−L|=0, and 2.91×10−5 for the decays D+(−)→n(n¯)e+(−) with Δ|B−L|=2 , where Δ|B−L| denotes the change in the difference between baryon and lepton numbers.

The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D+s → K+π+π−π0 is observed by using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb−1 recorded by the BESIII detector at the centre-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The first amplitude analysis of D+s → K+π+π−π0 reveals the sub-structures in this decay and determines the fractions and relative phases of different intermediate processes. The dominant intermediate process is D+s → K∗0ρ+, with a fit fraction of (40.5 ± 2.8stat. ± 1.5syst.)%. With the detection efficiency based on our amplitude analysis, the absolute branching fraction forD+s → K+π+π−π0 is measured to be (9.75 ± 0.54stat. ± 0.17syst.) × 10−3.
Using an 𝑒+𝑒− collision data sample with a total integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV, the branching fraction of the inclusive decay of the 𝐷+𝑠 meson to final states including at least three charged pions is measured for the first time to be ℬ(𝐷+𝑠→𝜋+𝜋+𝜋−𝑋)=(32.81±0.35stat±0.63syst)%. In this measurement the charged pions from 𝐾0𝑆 meson decays are excluded. The partial branching fractions of 𝐷+𝑠→𝜋+𝜋+𝜋−𝑋 are also measured as a function of the 𝜋+𝜋+𝜋− invariant mass.

These results are consistent with the world averages of previous measurements, but with improved precision.

Using 15.6 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected at twenty-four center-of-mass energies from 4.0 to 4.6 GeV with the BESIII detector, the helicity amplitudes of the process e+e− → π+π−ω are analyzed for the first time. Born cross section measurements of two-body intermediate resonance states with statistical significance greater than 5σ are presented, such as f0(500), f0(980), f2(1270), f0(1370), b1(1235)±, and ρ(1450)±. In addition, evidence of a resonance state in e+e− → π+π−ω production is found. The mass of this state obtained by line shape fitting is about 4.2 GeV/c2, which is consistent with the production of ψ(4160) or Y(4220).
