Audiovisuelle Wissensmedien können durch die Systematisierung / Strukturierung der Lehrangebote infolge des Bologna-Prozesses systematischer gesammelt, erschlossen und verfügbar gemacht werden. Durch die Einführung von E-Learning an den Hochschulen wurden Möglichkeiten geschaffen, AV-Medien auf vielfältige Weise online zu nutzen. Bleibt die Frage, wie können AV-Medien so bereitgestellt werden, dass sie leicht gefunden und in die Umgebungen integriert werden können. Im Rahmen von zwei Projekten des BmbF konnte das IWF Leibniz-Institut für Wissen und Medien ein Medienmangementsystem entwickeln, das den Transfer von audiovisuellen Wissensmedien in die Hochschulwelt nachhaltig ermöglicht. In einer Kooperation mit der SUB Göttingen und dem Gemeinsamen Bibliotheksverbund wurden schließlich die notwendige Verbindung zur Hochschule geschaffen. IWFcampusmedien können nun flexibel in E-Learningumgebungen eingebunden werden. Schlüsselwörter: Lernmanagement, Medienkompetenz, Online-Medien, Kulturwissenschaft, Film in der Lehre
Der nachfolgende Aufsatz von Herrn Professor Kroebel geht auf einen Vortrag zurück, den dieser anläßlich der letzten Hochschulfilmreferententagung in Göttingen gehalten hat. Wir glauben, daß das hier behandelte Thema, und insbesondere auch die Problematik der durch den Film und andere technische Mittel eintretenden Mechanisierung des wissenschaftlichen Hochschulunterrichts von allgemeinem Interesse und wichtig für unsere Arbeit ist. Wir hoffen, daß diese Veröffentlichung zur Diskussion der hier angeregten Fragen Anlaß geben wird.
Einleitung:
Wahrscheinlich hat es seit den 1970er Jahren nicht mehr so viele kritische Initiativen von Geographiestudierenden an Hochschulen in deutschsprachigen Ländern gegeben wie heute. Ihre Aktivitäten reichen von Lesekreisen, Tutorien, Exkursionen, Film- und Vortragsreihen bis zu politischen Aktionen, wobei viele Initiativen über den Arbeitskreis (AK) Kritische Geographie vernetzt sind. Parallel zu dieser erfreulichen Beobachtung findet ein fundamentaler Umbau der Hochschule statt. Die zunehmende Ökonomisierung des Studiums durch den Bologna-Prozess birgt die Gefahr, Gesellschaftskritik auf dem Altar der Verwertbarkeit und der "Praxisrelevanz" zu opfern. Diese Entwicklungen geben Anlass, das Verhältnis zwischen der Arbeit kritischer Initiativen und den reformierten Universitäten kritisch zu hinterfragen und damit den Zusammenhang zwischen Bologna-Prozess, Neoliberalisierung und kritischer Wissenschaft für die geographische Hochschullehre aus einer studentischen Perspektive zu beleuchten, wird doch ein nicht unbedeutender Teil der kritischen Geographie von Studierenden getragen.
Im Folgenden werden wir kurz auf den Bologna-Prozess eingehen, anschließend die Fragestellung und das methodische Vorgehen erläutern, um darauf aufbauend die empirischen Ergebnisse vorzustellen und zu diskutieren.
Average human behavior in cue combination tasks is well predicted by Bayesian inference models. As this capability is acquired over developmental timescales, the question arises, how it is learned. Here we investigated whether reward dependent learning, that is well established at the computational, behavioral, and neuronal levels, could contribute to this development. It is shown that a model free reinforcement learning algorithm can indeed learn to do cue integration, i.e. weight uncertain cues according to their respective reliabilities and even do so if reliabilities are changing. We also consider the case of causal inference where multimodal signals can originate from one or multiple separate objects and should not always be integrated. In this case, the learner is shown to develop a behavior that is closest to Bayesian model averaging. We conclude that reward mediated learning could be a driving force for the development of cue integration and causal inference.
The article discusses current transformations in the education systems worldwide. Focusing on the European Union (EU) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as policy actors, it argues that these transformations imply a triple economization of education policy which can be observed at all levels of the education sector. The increasing importance of these organizations in educational issues marks a transition to a "postnational constellation" also in the education field insofar as the national educational sovereignty is being at least readjusted. The economization of education policy is however not restricted to bringing education closer to the needs of the economy and to turning its services into tradable goods. Rather, it also impinges on the operative level of education. A logics of production is being implemented in the self-description of the institutions of the education system, which are no longer bureaucratically administered establishments, but are rather conceived of as managerially conducted production business in which entrepreneurial action is needed. This new governance raises the problem of democratic legitimation of political decisions which ideally combines three elements: democratic, expertocratic, and ethico-professional. The article discusses the consequences of a shift in the balance of the three components with reference to Germany.
