• Neben den bekannten Arten Avena fatua (Flug-Hafer) und A. sativa (Saat-Hafer) werden A. hybrida (Kurzhaar-Hafer), A. sativa-Fatuoide (oder morphologisch entsprechende Rückkreuzungen von A. hybrida × A. sativa mit A. hybrida), Hybriden A. fatua × A. sativa sowie mögliche Hybriden A. hybrida × A. sativa vorgestellt und diskutiert. Im Unterschied zur Literatur wird A. hybrida nicht über die Form der Kallusnarbe des dritten Blütchens definiert. Wesentliches Merkmal ist neben Länge und Intensität der Behaarung der Deckspelze deren Farbe zur Fruchtreife: Während die Deckspelze von A. hybrida wie die von A. sativa oder etwas schwärzlich gefärbt ist, ist die von A. fatua deutlich rotbraun gefärbt. Diese Merkmalskombination ist mit einer unterschiedlichen Phänologie korreliert, wobei A. fatua früher als A. hybrida blüht und fruchtet. Demgegenüber ist die Form der Kallusnarbe bei beiden Arten variabel und nicht mit anderen Merkmalen korreliert. Pflanzen, die A. sativa ähneln, aber rotbraun gefärbte Deckspelzen ausbilden, werden als Hybriden A. fatua × A. sativa betrachtet. Alle beobachteten Sippen werden anhand vieler Fotos vorgestellt.
• Besides the well known oat species Avena fatua (Common wild oat) and A. sativa (Oat), the following taxa are presented and their morphological differences discussed: A. hybrida, A. sativa fatuoids (or morphologically corresponding backcrosses of A. hybrida × A. sativa with A. hybrida), hybrids A. fatua × A. sativa as well as possible hybrids A. hybrida × A. sativa. Contrary to the literature, A. hybrida is not defined by the shape of the scar of the third floret. Instead a key morphological feature, next to the length and intensity of the hairiness of the lemma, is the color of the lemma during fruit ripening. While the lemma of A. hybrida is colored like that of A. sativa or somewhat blackish, the lemma of A. fatua is colored distinctly red-brown. This combination of characters is correlated with a different phenology as such that the flowering and fruiting times of A. fatua are earlier than those of A. hybrida. On the other hand, the shape of the scars of the florets is variable in both species and is not correlated with other characters. Plants similar to A. sativa with a red-brown colored lemma are treated as hybrids A. fatua × A. sativa. All observed taxa are shown and illustrated with many photos.
