• Eine ethnographische Studie zu bolivianischen Migrantinnen, die in Barcelona als undokumentierte "Domestic Workers" (private Kinder- und Altenbetreuung, sowie Haushaltshilfe) arbeiten, um mit ihrem Einkommen den Lebensunterhalt ihrer Familien im Herkunftsland zu sichern. Die Arbeit analysiert Motive und Entscheidungsprozesse des Migrationsprojekts aus einer gendersensiblen Perspektive und stellt die Strategien zur Grenzüberwindung in den Rahmen von verschärften EU-Grenzregimen. Weiter wird die prekäre Wohn- und Arbeitssituation der "illegalen" MigrantInnen, insbesondere der Arbeitsplatz Privathaushalt, thematisiert und die Rolle von Hilfsorganisationen kritisch beleuchtet.
• An ethnographic study about Bolivian female migrants, who work as undocumented domestic workers (caring for children, for elderly people or as housemaids) in Barcelona in order to sustain their families in their country of origin with their remittences. The study looks at the motives and decision processes of the migration project from a gender sensitive perspective and analyses the border strategies of migrants in the context of European border regimes. Then the precarious living and working situation of "illegal" migrants, especially the private household as working place, is analysed and the ambivalent role of caritative organisations/NGOs is highlighted.
