In the last two decades, new unpredicted charmonium-like states with extraordinary characteristics have been observed experimentally. These states also known as the XYZ states, e.g., the Y(4260) or the X(3872), are mostly interpreted as QCD allowed exotic hadrons. One of the leading hadron physics experiments in the world, the Beijing Electron Spectrometer III (BESIII) at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider II (BEPCII) is aiming towards revealing the internal structure of these states. It has brought numerous breakthrough discoveries including the discovery of the charged Zc(3900). In order to understand the nature of the Y(4260) state and its decay patterns, an inclusive analysis is performed for different recoil systems (π+π−,K+K− and K±π∓) using the BESIII data samples for center of mass energies above 4 GeV collected between 2013 and 2019. The aim of this analysis is twofold: on one hand, we search for new unobserved charmonium-like decay channels using the missing mass technique and on the other hand, it provides an accurate inclusive cross section measurement for e+e−→X π+π−, with the X being the J/ψ, hc and ψ(2S), respectively. Two resonant structures, the Y(4220) and the Y(4390), are observed in the inclusive energy dependent Born cross section of e+e−→hc π+π−, which is consistent with the BESIII exclusive measurements. Moreover, the energy dependent cross section of e+e−→J/ψ π+π− is investigated, in which two resonances have consistently been observed with the previous BESIII exclusive studies, namely, the Y(4220) and the Y(4320). In the (K±π±) recoil system, possible Y(4260) open charm decay channels are investigated. Two enhancements are observed in the inclusive energy dependent cross section of e+e−→DD above 4.13GeV, which could possibly be the ψ(4160)and the ψ(4415).
In der aktuellen Zeit gibt es eine Vielzahl an annotierten Texten und anderen Medien. Genauso gibt es verschiedenste Möglichkeiten neue Texte zu annotieren, sowohl manuell als auch automatisch. Es gibt Systeme, die diese Annotationen in andere, visuell ansprechendere Medien umwandeln. Zu diesen Systemen gehören auch die Text2Scene Systeme, dort wird ein annotierter Text in eine dreidimensionale Szene umgewandelt. Ein Teil dieser Text2Scene Systeme können auch Personen durch Modelle von Menschen darstellen, aber bis jetzt gibt es noch kein System, dass Avatar Modelle selber synthetisieren kann.
Der Fokus dieser Arbeit liegt sowohl darauf eine Schnittstelle bereitzustellen, mit der Avatare mit bestimmten Parametern erstellt werden können, als auch die Möglichkeit diese Avatare in der virtuellen Realität anzuzeigen und zu bearbeiten. Man kann in einer virtuellen Szene die Eigenschaften bestimmter Körperteile anpassen und die Kleidung der Avatare auswählen.
Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is one of the most common malignant lymphomas in Western Europe. The nodular sclerosing subtype of cHL (NS cHL) is characterised by a proliferation of fibroblasts in the tumour microenvironment, leading to fibrotic bands surrounding the lymphoma infiltrate. Several studies have described a crosstalk between the tumour cells of cHL, the Hodgkin- and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells, and cancerassociated fibroblasts (CAF). However, to date a deep molecular understanding of these fibroblasts is lacking. Aim of the present study therefore was a comprehensive
characterisation of these fibroblasts. Moreover, only a few studies describe the interplay of HRS cells and CAF. The paracrine communication and direct interaction of these two
cellular fractions have been investigated within this study. Finally, the influence of a few HRS cells within a lymph node orchestrate the mere alteration of its architecture and
morphology. Gene expression and methylation profiles of fibroblasts isolated from primary lymph node suspensions revealed persistent differences between fibroblasts obtained from NS cHL and lymphadenitis. NS cHL derived fibroblasts exhibit a myofibroblastic - inflammatory phenotype characterised by MYOCD, CNN1 and IL-6 expression. TIMP3, an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases, was strongly upregulated in NS cHL fibroblasts, likely contributing to the accumulation of collagen in sclerotic bands of NS cHL. Treatment by luteolin could reverse this fibroblast phenotype and decrease TIMP3 secretion. NS cHL fibroblasts showed enhanced proliferation when they were exposed to soluble factors released from HRS cells. For HRS cells, soluble
factors from fibroblasts were not sufficient to protect them from Brentuximab-Vedotin(BV) induced cell death. However, HRS cells adherent to fibroblasts were protected from BV-induced injury. The cHL specific interaction of both cell fractions reveals an initiation of inflammatory key regulators such as IL13 and IL4. Among important adhesion molecules known from literature the blocking of integrin beta 1 solely interrupted the adhesion of HRS cells to CAF. In summary, this study proves the stable reprograming of CAF phenotype and expression derived from NS cHL. It presents a suitable in vitro model for studying the interaction of HRS cells and CAF by paracrine factors and adherence. Most importantly the observations confirm the importance of fibroblasts for HRS cells´ inflammatory niche and cell survival associated with TIMP3 which probably acts as a major factor to the typical accumulation of fibrosis observed in NS cHL.
In der vorgelegten kumulativen Arbeit wurden strukturelle und funktionale Untersuchungen an Nukleinsäuren durchgeführt, hauptsächlich, aber nicht ausschließlich unter Verwendung von NMR-Spektroskopie (Kernspin Resonanzspektroskopie) als Analysemethode. Die untersuchten Biomoleküle umfassten kleinere und größere biologisch relevante RNAs sowie einen artifiziellen DNA G-Quadruplex. Hierbei konnten Ergebnisse im Bereich der Bestimmung der molekularen Struktur, der Aufklärung der biologischen Funktion und der Wirkstoffentwicklung gewonnen werden, die in sechs verschiedenen Publikationen dargelegt sind, an deren Erstellung der Autor maßgeblich oder hauptverantwortlich beteiligt war. Des Weiteren wird in einem mehrgliedrigen Einleitungssegment auf den Stand der aktuellen Forschung in den jeweiligen Teilgebieten eingegangen.
The function of the cerebral cortex essentially depends on the ability to form functional assemblies across different cortical areas serving different functions. Here we investigated how developmental hearing experience affects functional and effective interareal connectivity in the auditory cortex in an animal model with years-long and complete auditory deprivation (deafness) from birth, the congenitally deaf cat (CDC). Using intracortical multielectrode arrays, neuronal activity of adult hearing controls and CDCs was registered in the primary auditory cortex and the secondary posterior auditory field (PAF). Ongoing activity as well as responses to acoustic stimulation (in adult hearing controls) and electric stimulation applied via cochlear implants (in adult hearing controls and CDCs) were analyzed. As functional connectivity measures pairwise phase consistency and Granger causality were used. While the number of coupled sites was nearly identical between controls and CDCs, a reduced coupling strength between the primary and the higher order field was found in CDCs under auditory stimulation. Such stimulus-related decoupling was particularly pronounced in the alpha band and in top–down direction. Ongoing connectivity did not show such a decoupling. These findings suggest that developmental experience is essential for functional interareal interactions during sensory processing. The outcomes demonstrate that corticocortical couplings, particularly top-down connectivity, are compromised following congenital sensory deprivation.
This article problematizes the assumption that national policies have a direct impact on youth participation at the local level and analyses the relationships between local forms of youth participation and local and national policies. Relying on data from a EU project funded under the HORIZON 2020 programme, the article focuses on formally institutionalized settings of youth participation and elaborates local constellations of youth participation in six European cities. These constellations may be referred to as regimes of youth participation as they reflect wider structures of power and knowledge that influence the way in which young people’s practices in public spaces and their claims of being part of society are recognized. However, the analysis reveals that rather deducing it from the model of welfare regimes, such a typology needs to be developed starting from the local level and should consider the ways in which different relationships between local youth policies and national welfare states affect youth participation.
Schistosomiasis is a severe neglected tropical disease caused by trematodes and transmitted by freshwater snails. Snails are known to be highly tolerant to agricultural pesticides. However, little attention has been paid to the ecological consequences of pesticide pollution in areas endemic for schistosomiasis, where people live in close contact with non-sanitized freshwaters. In complementary laboratory and field studies on Kenyan inland areas along Lake Victoria, we show that pesticide pollution is a major driver in increasing the occurrence of host snails and thus the risk of schistosomiasis transmission. In the laboratory, snails showed higher insecticide tolerance to commonly found pesticides than associated invertebrates, in particular to the neonicotinoid Imidacloprid and the organophosphate Diazinon. In the field, we demonstrated at 48 sites that snails were present exclusively in habitats characterized by pesticide pollution and eutrophication. Our analysis revealed that insensitive snails dominated over their less tolerant competitors. The study shows for the first time that in the field, pesticide concentrations considered “safe” in environmental risk assessment have indirect effects on human health. Thus we conclude there is a need for rethinking the environmental risk of low pesticide concentrations and of integrating agricultural mitigation measures in the control of schistosomiasis.
